Miami Dolphins......

From when I was in Miami for the Miami vs Buffalo game in 2012, before the stadium renovation. Every Detroit Lions fan has an alternative team they follow, and Miami has been mine since the 1972 perfect season.

I'm sitting with an Under 9 1/2 wins ticket. Not pleased as to what has unfolded. But who they've beaten is a who's who of trash. Sure they beat Balt but it was a home game on a Thursday night with 80 degree heat and humidity. And they beat the Saints with a QB who's experience was one preseason game. Glad to see they face the well rested Titans while they are on a 6 day week.

should have been a rocking chair winner but I still think you will cash. I had Tennessee to win over 9.5 games & to win their division. Need 1 more win to cash the 2nd wager.

I'm getting tired of guys trashing the Dolphins win streak, yeah I get it, they haven't played great competition, but rather than list the teams they've beaten, I would rather do it this way. These were the spreads of the games during Miami's streak:

Miami favored by 3.5
Miami an underdog of 9
Miami favored by 3.5
Miami pick
Miami favored by 6.5
Miami favored by 9.5
Miami favored by 3

During their seven game win streak, they've won five of those games either as a dog or a small chalk, the other two games were a win as a big dog and a big favorite. It's not like the Dolphins are this juggernaut team beating inferior competition, before the streak they were 1-7 and one of the worst teams in the league. Other than the second Jets game when they were laying a big number, all of the others were losable games, but the Fins won them all, winning seven in a row isn't easy, so I'll give them their proper credit before I'll shit on them for who they've played

That Miami song sounds a lot like another (former) team:

I was really trashing their opponents more than them. They can only play who's on their schedule. But.....how easy is it to gauge them? Here's the recent QBs faced:

NO: Ian Book
NYJ: Zach Wilson
NYG: Glennon
Carolina: duo of Cam and Walker
NYJ: Flacco
Balt: Lamar
Houston: Tyrod Taylor

Clearly their defensive numbers are puffed up (or maybe, defused downward). Offensively, maybe the opposite a bit as playing those teams, no need to get fancy and throw 40 times a game. Get a lead, milk the clock and take your win. A win against Tenn would help credibility. Decent setup for the Titans, coming off a Thursday nighter while the Dolphins back in 6 days.

You'd think the market would open Miami at Ten -3 and let the bettors decide how good this Miami team is.

No...opens 3.5. Should tell you something.

Miami has the 2nd weakest SOS in the NFL. Hilariously, even using the simple minded Sagarin Predictor, the line estimate is 21.32 minus 18.41 + HFA of 0.73 gives Tenn -(2.91+0.73) = 3.64. I guess opening 3.5 is somewhat neutral.

titans are very overrated imo. market may be catching up to miami some, but still underrated imo, especially if TO battle is even. not only is tua accurate he has quick release. waddle and lisicki both underrated

dolphins are 8-3 with Tua, they won at ne week 1, then he got hurt 1st drive 2nd game vs buf
Mac Jones isn’t exactly Tom Brady either. It was still an impressive win at Hoody’s House. I would like to see them healthy against a good team, just to see really how good they are.

New England should've won that week 1 game. They were driving deep into Miami territory for a would be go ahead score (Miami led 17-16 at the time) when Harris fumbled the ball away for the Pats. NE 393-256 in yards, was penalized far more (84 to 38) and controlled time of possession 37 min to 23.

Who is overrating Tennessee? Have you seen the resume? Wins over: Indy (twice), Buffalo, Kansas City, Rams, San Francisco and New Orleans. Losses to Arizona and New England
Compare that to Miami: a win over Balt and one over an Ian Book led New Orleans. All other opponents beaten were complete dumpster fires.

Actually the Dolphins beat a good Patriots team.

BTW Miami is 4-0 against the Pats, Jets & Texans. Do you know what the Titans record is against those 3 teams, 2 of which are garbage? 0-3.

The Pats not only beat but destroyed the Titans.

With The Whole League Healthy, Tenn., Easily Has a Top 5 Roster.

Remember the game well. Jones is more a game manager, that’s ok as Roesthlisberger was also.

Jaylen Waddle has the makings of a star for years to come. I invested in some high end cards of his over the last six weeks I hope to hold onto and let marinate. I like the future of the Fish.

As long as he can avoid injury and Covid, he'll likely break the record for receptions as a rookie, the chemistry he has with Tua was immediate

But the Titans beat the Rams easily at SoFi… yards don’t mean shit sometimes!

Obviously. A win is a win. (Even if your team is out gained by 100, 200, 300 or 500 yards. And your offence is pathetic. And you won with winning he turnover battle, including a pick 6 & another pick returned to your opponents 2 yard line. Practically a 14 point gift in a 28-16 game. )

Bills another enigma. 1-5:versus winning teams.

They had some close losses @ TB in OT, @ Titans by 3, vs Pats in the wind bowl by 4.

The Jekyll & Hyde Titans kind of the opposite, beating the good teams & losing to the lousy ones. With few exceptions.

Tenn has also been one of the hardest hit teams for injuries. Getting Oft-injured Julio Jones was an awful move. They can be a nice sleeper if Henry can come back for the playoffs.

They beat a healthy Ravens team at home as 9 point dogs

They did, although that was clearly a bad spot for Balt; 4 day turnaround to play a Thursday night road game in 84% humidity (per NFL Gamebook). I think the AFC North is weak and detailed that in another thread how they have performed poorly when playing out of division.

Having said that, I'm actually on Miami + 3 1/2 this weekend. Why? Part of it is a hedge. And Tennessee is predictably unpredictable. They have many quality wins, but have won 5 games by 3 or less, so I'll take the streaking team against an opponent who doesn't cover by much. Does Tenn miss Henry? The first few weeks but they've run for over 200 in two of their L4. The issue for Tenn will be containing Miami's pass rush, which leads the NFL in sacks (33 in last 7 games alone) while Tenn has allowed 4 in each of their L3 games. Both defenses in excellent form. Hard to see many points unless a flurry of turnovers. Have to like the over in the sack prop if its 4 1/2 or 5.
