25 years ago today said those two words in a press release that made Chicago Bulls very happy. "I'm Back". Won three more titles with the Bulls for a total of six.

We may never know.

Jordan was gambling and partying A LOT in the spring of 1993.

He was caught at an Atlantic City craps table before a Knicks game on an East Coast trip.

Jordan's "switch" to baseball was made easier by Jerry Reinsdorf, majority owner of both the Bulls and White Sox.

How many here believe Stern made a back room hush hush suspension for Jordan for possibly gambling on NBA?

Absolutely that's what happened. Jordan was the face of the sports world and they didnt want to openly suspend him or ban him from the nba.

I mean, don't all top 5 athletes of all time decide to take a 2 year break in the peak of their career coming off of 3 straight championships?

I remember Jordan's return late in the '94-95 NBA regular season after more than a year-and-a-half layoff.

The Bulls eventually lost to the Orlando Magic in the first round of the 1995 NBA playoffs.

Jordan changed his jersey number from 23 to 45 during his first season back.

Nick Anderson, one of Orlando's top players, authored a classic line after outdueling "MJ" in the postseason.

Anderson said, "Number 45 doesn't explode like Number 23."

Anderson's words served as motivation for Jordan during the offseason.

I've heard Jordan was a notorious welsher with huge gambling debts. Heard he'd often attempt to pay them off with autographed memorabilia.

Someone wrote a book about Jordan's gambling allegations.

I think the author was a San Diego-based physician or attorney.

Researching now.

Richard Esquinas was a sports executive based in San Diego.

He met Michael Jordan at an exhibition basketball game in 1989.

The book is titled, "Michael and Me: Our Gambling Addiction -- My Cry For Help."

NBA superstar Michael Jordan owed a San Diego businessman as much as $1.252 million in golf gambling losses before eventually agreeing to a negotiated settlement of $300,000, according to a soon-to-be-released book obtained Wednesday by The Times.

Richard Esquinas, 38, former general manager of the San Diego Sports Arena, claims in his book, “Michael & Me: Our Gambling Addiction . . . My Cry For Help!” that he and Jordan wagered hundreds of thousands of dollars, sometimes adding up to more than $1 million, during the course of their four-year relationship, which included more than 110 rounds of golf.
