Mirage Hotel Now Owned By Indian Group

Sold by MGM to Hard Rock, which is owned by Seminole Gaming.

This is the first Indian venture onto the strip.

Hard Rock hotel going up, iconic volcano going down.

Let's see how much of Wynn's old place survives.

Sad.

More Vegas news:

If you're looking for a sportsbook at Bally's.... it's gone. To be replaced by a arcade. And (hotel) will be rebranded and called the 'Horseshoe'

Wtf is going on? My head is spinning.

Indians positioning themselves for more acquisitions on the strip, watch.

Remember, The Palms is now theirs too.

Reading the tea leaves, sports betting will become very vanilla in Vegas.

Slots will rule.

MGM figuratively traded the Mirage for the Cosmo

Smart?

Maybe they can write off the losses.

The hotel is a perennial money loser.

Yup...some full game lines are already mirroring live betting 20/30 cent spreads.

On another side note. The Raiders hired a black female today as president.

Prestigious lawyer, head of Gaming Control.

I wonder what's up with that 🤔

it was weird that the indians were so disorganized to get in on 2022 ballot in calif while draftskings made it on ballot easily

Hold percentage with sports, 4-7 percent, if that.

Slots can peak at 30.

Seminole knows the numbers.
When I was walking through the Mirage this past May, I noticed they replaced the poker room with high limit slots. I'm sure much more profitable than poker as well. Plus you're not paying all the dealers needed to operate a poker room!

For casino executives, belligerent customers are the worst.

Disobedient casino employees finish a close second.

Every Monday morning outside their office, casino executives find four disgruntled customers waiting to file a complaint and three upset employees eager to file a grievance.

Jimmy Vaccaro, dressed in a white sweatshirt and blue jeans, hopping over the sports book counter at The Mirage is now a distant memory.

jk give me the top 3 sports book managers in your opinion in the day?

Good question.

You first have to respect guys who booked with their own money.

For that reason, Gene Maday at Little Caesars tops my list.

Of course, Jackie Gaughan (El Cortez) and Mel Exber (Las Vegas Club) were among the first to realize the importance of a casino's race and sports book operation.

Art Manteris, it is said, was great for casino owners because he followed the rules and regulations, which others like Jimmy Vaccaro, Nick Bogdanovich and Sid Diamond ignored.

Casino owners never want to jeopardize their gaming license and the ability to print money through slots and table game revenue with a rogue operator in the race and sports book.

If I owned a casino, I'd select Robert Walker to run my race and sports book.

Honest and smart in every way.

He books the action like it is coming from his wallet.

As a customer, I always liked the way a young Nick Bogdanovich booked at the Horseshoe.

No Brains Needed For Slots.

Just Pull.

Some Insight/ Brains Needed For Sports Wagering.

Casino Executives Just Need People With Money.

Brains Irrelevant.

The Bally's transformation is interesting. The arcade is for adults too.

You can bet using a mobile app in the hotel...and eventually there will be a small book....but the handwriting is on the wall, sportsbooks will eventually be a afterthought.

Not many go to Vegas now to live off sports betting. Arizona, Colorado is usually their destination. Rebates, bigger menus, convenience.

Can't blame them.

The Palms is now owned by San Manuel Indian Tribe. They bought the Palms for $650 million!! The INDIANS are taking over Vegas

From female CEO representing Yaamava (San Manuel), owner of Palms:

Can you say what the other opportunity was that San Manuel considered?

"I’d rather not. We, as a tribe, looked at another property on the Strip. We’ve looked at Las Vegas before; it’s only a three-hour drive from us. A significant amount of our database goes to Las Vegas already, so it was kind of a no-brainer for us. We did want to stay close to the Strip, as that appeals to our customer base. We studied all the different gaming markets across the country. We also liked the regulatory environment in Las Vegas and in Nevada."
