Hoping for. May 1st start.
The interesting question is what will the NBA and NHL do? Scrap the rest of the season and play best 2/3 and 3/5? This is assuming a May 1 restart.

Where do you get the idea that things will be better by May 1, things are going to be far worse and still going down, pandemics are not 2 month events, they last a yr or more and only end when significant percentages of the population have already been infected, resulting in less spread of the virus.

I’m just throwing that out as a best case. Illinois isn’t allowing anything before May 1 anyway. You’re correct, it can be far worse, it’s a very fluid situation right now.

We clearly aren't going to see a 162 game season, and with the bitter cold weather in many northern venues in early April,it could be the best thing for baseball.
I would have to think MLB will have to completely re-do the schedule. If they picked a date like May 10, for instance, not all teams would have the same number of remaining games. Will sportsbooks put out revised season win totals? I suspect the strength of schedule will only get more important. MLB likely will not trim much of the divisional games, so we could see a lot of variance in SOS.

Cubs mainly a Trumptard organization. As a young kid growing up in a Near North Suburb of Chicago I would run home from school or the bus stop hoping it was a long game so I would be able to watch as many innings as possible. I was the only one in my grammar school and jr high that cared about the Cubs with that much passion. Now I could careless about them. It began before Trump. Pretty much after the Bartman season.

Last night I thoroughly enjoyed watching a great Chicago sports movie, Hoop Dreams. Boycott anything Ricketts. They have contributed to innocent migrant kids dying in the custody of US government for the first time in over 15 years.

Get this, I asked my nephews and nieces if they would support someone that stole a million dollars from charity. They all said no way. I told them Trump stole over 2 million from charity. One of my top 10 favorite films. Poetic justice seeing coach Pingatore watching Agee from the stands while he lead his Cinderella team during the state tournament. Ping seemed like a total ass.
