Nice. Some are not classics in the memorable sense, but are just damn good movies that are fun to watch over and over. . .:cheers

i.e., what do we do with Ferris Bueller? It will never win any awards, but I have stopped down to see it at least ten times in my life. . .

Sure, Cruise has been in a lot of movies i enjoy. I don't know if i enjoy them because of him specifically, but i guess i've gravitated towards the type of movie he's usually in.

i get that. for whatever reason, i gravitate toward matt damon & will smith movies. dunno why.

Thanks, AA. And great pick with Good Will Hunting - one of my all-times faves as well. Robin Williams was great in it, but I generally enjoy his movies. Which reminds me of Good Morning, Vietnam. Great performance, great movie.

nice one, AA... just watched FMJ again last week & good will hunting is one of my favs of all time.

Re: Movies, movies, movies ...

Full Metal Jacket is one that I've watched about 10 time too, but it's not a classic like the ones I listed. "Your days of finger-fucking little Mary-Jane Rotten Crotch through her purdy, pink panties, ARE OVER!!

Re: Movies, movies, movies ...

I like a movie on just about everyones list. So instead of making 100 posts in this thread. I'll just say well done.

Color of money is the most underrated movie on these lists. Seems like one not many people heard of....

What are your top movies that you've watched multiple times - the ones you could watch over and over again?

Me:
1. The Holiday
2. Sleepless in Seattle
3. When Harry Met Sally
4. Pretty Woman
5. Sound of Music
6. Gone With the Wind
7. Wizard of Oz
8. Titanic
9. While You Were Sleeping
10. High Society

Tough question because there are so many great movies seen multiple times and your question is not restricted to a specific genre. With a relatively young audience in mind, I’ll try to list a few made in the past 30 years, while by no means implies they’re considered personal all-time top films but we’ll call them “recent” favorites with a few double-feature recommendations…no particular order with a lean towards comedy and good music. 12io4j2w90

1. The Big Chill 1983
2. The Last of the Mohicans 1992
3. Good Will Hunting 1997
4. Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels 1998
5. American Beauty 1999
6. Clerks 1994
7. The ‘60s 1999 / The ‘70s 2000

Re: Movies, movies, movies ...

And the worst movies ever:
Anything by David Lynch

The only David Lynch movie the Munchkin Man did not like was Dune (1984).

Otherwise, the Munchkin Man enjoyed most of the other David Lynch movies and their surrealistic style.

Wild At Heart (1990) made the Munchkin Man's top 25 list.

The Munchkin Man also loved Blue Velvet (1986), which would have made the second half of the Munchkin Man's top 50 list.

The Munchkin Man also enjoyed Elephant Man (1980) and Eraserhead (1977).

One director whose style the Munchkin Man has never liked is Tim Burton, who ruined the remake of The Planet Of The Apes.

Am I the first to mention Jaws here? Yikes! I will watch this every time it is on, as well as on DVD on occasion. I can recite most it line by line.

Stars Wars, especially Empire Strikes Back and Revenge of the Sith.
The Matrix
Godfather I and II only
Shawshank Redemption - one of my all-time favorites
Planet of the Apes - the Charleton Heston movies
Saving Private Ryan
Schindler's List
Officer and A Gentleman
Ben Hur
The Sting
The Natural
Raiders of the Lost Ark
There's Something About Mary - funny, funny, funny
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
A Shot in the Dark - original Pink Panther with Peter Sellers
New Bond - Casino Royale
Batman Begins
