NBA Playoffs: Comments & Homer Takes

With my under 224 ticket, it was clear well before the end of the Bucks/Pacers game, the only chance the game could go over would be a Milw collapse and OT, which ended up happening.

If you are the series dog, and on the road, you have to be aggressive and try to win at the end of regulation. Idiot announcers made some comment like “you don’t want to blow it here with a turnover or leave Indiana any time”. So w 10 seconds left, Trent stood there, dribbling away then forced up an awful 18 foot turnaround jumper. That’s fine if you are Jordan or Kobe. Not Trent. Just a terrible end game. Here’s an idea: try penetrating. Maybe the shot goes in or you draw a foul; neither of which were going to happen on an 18 foot turnaround.

Clippers are one of the few teams in the league that can beat Denver in Denver in a GM7 matchup.

I don't think the sharp money on the Clippers every game is wrong, they are better.

They cut it to 8 last night in a horrendous spot with Murray going nuts.

I don't think taking the Clips to win the series now is a bad bet.

I disagree with it being a horrendous spot, Yeah I get it coming off the dunk at the buzzer, but these aren't high school kids, they're professionals, the series was still tied at two, a win on the road and you can close them out at home. I don't think the ending of the previous game had anything to do with the outcome last night, and if the Clippers are that weak minded to have that loss affect them the next game, then they're too weak minded to win the next two games, especially game seven on the road

Two years ago the Heat went up 3-0 on the Celtics, the Celtics won the next two and the Heat had a chance to close them out at home in game six, they had a one point lead in the final seconds, Marcus Smart missed a shot and Derrick White tipped in the game winner at the buzzer, as horrific a beat as you'll ever see, so now the 8th seed Heat has to go on the road in Boston to play the 1 seed Celtics in a game 7, right after that devastating loss, and with the pressure of becoming the first team in NBA history to blow a 3-0 series lead, no one gave them a chance, but they won the game and went to the finals.

Circa moved from -500 to -600 on Cleveland series with no takers on +400.

Cleveland had a middle of the pack defense all year, certainly not warranting the above price but it's obvious Miami series outcome is playing a role in betting.

Lue scares me in these games. He looks lost on the sidelines.

Clippers utilized a confusing zone in GM 4 enabling them to come back. Did Lue use it GM 5? Of course not...

I don't mean to keep disagreeing with you, but the Cavs defense is better than you give them credit for, in fact they've been good on the defensive end.

During the regular season they ranked 8th in defensive efficiency, they held opponents to 45.3% shooting from the field which ranked 3rd in the league, they ranked 3rd in opponents effective FG%, they were middle of the pack in defending the three ranking 14th, and they were 10th in points per game allowed

I'm not visually impressed with Cleveland, notwithstanding the metrics. The first two games in Cleveland were close versus Miami.

Miami was down 2 late in GM2....they got a big boost all series for DeAndre Hunter who Miami had no answer for.

I thought -280/-300 sure. Opening -500 is nuts. Last month of the season Indy was actually the better team.

Good move by Redick to go with a small lineup enabling Gobert to look like Wilt Chamberlain in a elimination game. 🤦

If a reporter brings it up post game he probably walks out.

Funny, Luka looked a lot different with Finney-Smirh and Vanderbilt versus Gabbard and Lively in Dallas last year...😁

I get the future face of the Lakers but Lakers were starting to gel after win at MSG, then the trade.

I wonder if Cavs fall short, will they want James back?

lebron probably could help with offense next year... but he would be a minus on defense because he is too slow. Lebron is the best 40 year old ever..

I think the Fakers keep Lebron. Because I saw what they did with Kobe. Since he death. Maybe because of his death. All the bad stuff Kobe did has been forgotten and his legacy has zoomed because of all the good stuff. But Kobe held the Fakers hostage for several years after he lost his skills. Several years and it set the franchise back even after he finally retired. History is repeating with Lebron. Should have thanked him after the fake 2020 chip. Instead 5 years and counting and counting and counting.

4th qtr of elimination game and Lebron brings nothing but another Apollo Creed death scene flop. No points. No assists. No steals. No rebounds. No leadership. Apollo.

I saw Kyrie at the game last night. That's who they needed a few years ago. Another point forward doing a Globetrotter dribbling exhibition top of doesn't help much.

GL to Lakeshow with 50 million tied up next season with Ebony & Ivory...

Kudos to Kenny Smith with a great observation last night. When you go small, LeBron has to play the #4 which makes his size ineffective. At the 3 he can over match you on offense.

Redick has no clue including using a big man finally in the late stages who hadn't seen minutes since January.

I'm going to have to check. That's like a decade of going to 7 every series to the Finals. Since when did Doc ever make it past the 1st the first round. Matrix glitch?

Matrix glitch.

Doc Rivers' playoff record as an NBA head coach is 113-108, with his teams reaching the playoffs consistently for 25 years. He has coached the Magic, Celtics, Clippers, 76ers, and Bucks, and won an NBA title with the Celtics in 2008. His playoff win percentage is .516.
