Ahh...come on, really?, they dumped him from the playoffs for that!?

One small aspect that people are missing is that a person could be on their last leg/final straw with the company. The remark may or may not have warranted dismissal, but who knows: this fool could have had three verbal warnings and three written reprimands up until this point.

Is it likely that this is his first "offense" while there? I doubt it.

He sucked anyways. NBC insisting on continuing to use old school voices, all who eventually piss the people off somehow. Hockey is a unique sport in that most viewers haven't really played it formally. The color guys have to stop telling us about all these dumb rules every coach talks about and tell us real insider stuff, interject things beyond the canned fluff everyone uses. If I have to hear one more guy say "play the game right" I'm going to puke. That's BS talk for follow orders and do what everyone has done for 100 years before you. Then you get guys like Tatis Jr come along and if you have enough old school people around those guys get sent to the minors or the scratch list until they follow old thinking.
