Whatever spin-doctor thought this one up-the casinos and other gambling related businesses owe him or her alot of money! Just like the guy who thought up the combos at the fast-food joints like McDonalds, Wendy's Burger King, etc...

How come Sam?

As you said, spin-doctoring. "Gaming" is an easier sell to ma & pa than "Gambling" and are more willing to vote for it (Casinos/Lottos). Throw in that "Gaming revenue" is for the "children" then it's a slam dunk.

Gaming sounds like kids' games,Chutes and Ladders, CandyLand, etc... Gambling is for real money, craps, poker, etc... Thanks Sam.

Actually, Frank Fahrenkopf of the American Gaming Association (read: Lobbyist group) helped coin the phrase for that exact reason. To make it sound less sinister for ballot issues.

That is, if you were looking for the serious answer.:+thumbs-2

I always thought that was the reason, but why would people just go along with them like sheep? Gaming, that just pisses me off to hear.
