Since sportsbetting in Michigan may be live at the end of November, we are getting flooded with sportsbook info. I'm trying to cut thru the clutter of what is good and what isn't. I'm not interested in bonuses as much as good/fair lines, early lines, ease of site, in-game wagering, and props. WOuld love to hear about PointsBet and Barstool also.

Bonuses are so good though, might as well take them and then keep small balances in case you get a good line.

I don't really think of any as being much better than the others. William Hill a bit more limited here than the others, but offers good lines. MGM started off conservative but now are giving out bonuses and boosts as much as anyone. FanDuel started out very liberal with bonuses but bad value on lines, they have kind of calmed down. Fox and BetRivers have slightly less vig in some spots like football, bit more vig for baseball so it's all over the place. And at least around here Rivers and DraftKings pretty much have the same lines.

To put it simply, when it's competitive like it is around here it's a gold mine at least for now. But will depend on who comes to the party and how much they compete.

Another new one in NJ, TIPICO, which is apparently a German book. They hooked up with Ocean Casino/AC.
Most likely not a huge offering, like ScoreBet, but maybe soft areas like you find with ScoreBet.
There are still tracks (Freehold) that can "host" more books, not sure how long will be before Barstool/Penn gets in.

2021 new jersey should be a big year with more books added.. Sporttrade exchange , Vigtory , sportsbetting.com , esports entertainment and there is a chance 5Dimes enters the US market.

don't use the apps unless the sports book do not have a website...easier to play on websites.. Most sports books have websites..

There are plenty more licenses left in NJ, you will see more books. Getting hard though to be something that isn't already offered. Books with a name but nothing special operationally like Circa and Super Book find it increasingly hard to justify going into crowded markets.

Captain Jack just did interview with Dink. He notes you want several books that are very good with recent line changes;

not good enough for bettors. Not that many odds makers like nevada.. The one that is making money is fan duel.. and they will continue until NY city goes legal.

We'll never see the days again where you had bookmakers who take large positions and stand firm in their beliefs that over time they come out ahead. Just not in the DNA of these companies, especially since they are bankrolled with someone else's money and they just have a job to do. Offshore only place you still see a little of that, but as they become less relevant with more states opening up, they too will not want to take on too much risk either and just hang on with the business they continue to get.

I think they are taking large positions but not every game. The numbers are more controlled in the US legal books outside of nevada.. ... The score takes positions in NJ maybe that is why they got crushed last month.

I have heard from a good source the problem for Score is they have a customer base that just bets square sides and heavily goes after parlays. They don't have the boosts and bonus plays that the others do to get a lot of small money on a variety of things so their bettors are putting a lot of money on fewer games and props. So really not a whole lot they could do to stop from getting hit on those positions short of a strategy change. They have a good investment base though, they can absorb losses as long as they are convinced they are booking the right way.

I think Fan Duel is doing well because they have relatively bad odds that deter the sharps and lots of boosts for small dollars that get a good diverse betting crowd. Probably could have a bad month at some point if all those boosts hit, but when you book at higher than -110 vig and often shade numbers to deter action, you'll keep the sharps away.

IMHO you have to take advantage of the bonuses, it's damn near impossible to lose money your 1st year if you do. So much free money out there. Just a heads up I deposited $2500 into draftkings to take full advantage of their $500 free bet and $500 20% deposit bonus only to find out it doesn't apply to anyone that had a fantasy account in the past.

Wow that sucks. Yeah the other key thing that is different now is you get one bonus anywhere so choose it wisely. I got the FanDuel bonus in NJ during the early days of sports betting there so don't get one here or in another state that opens.

On another note, I still can't believe the value sportsbetting.com is giving away. You guys in Jersey about to get these guys be ready. I basically get a free shot at around $100 on soccer everyday with their promo right now. If you bet a football game of any kind with them, you might as well bet the same amount on a soccer match because you get 50% of the combined bets back in account credit and you can bet on anything up to -200 so you'll cash a lot of winners too.

They also give you a free $100 bet every Tuesday if you place a $100 bet on the NFL or NCAA. I'm strictly using them as an NFL out with -105 lines as the juice they charge on college foots is a little ridiculous.

Haha yeah I can't forget that, bet into horrible lines and still got a bonus out of it. Only in Colorado it seems.
