Fangraphs has PADS at 93 percentile to make playoffs...

Response: I should hope so!

Darvish and Snell haven't exactly been the healthiest pitchers in the league. Give a young guy like Tatis a third of a billion dollars and maybe, just maybe, a little hunger is gone.

Caveat emptor on the over for RSW totals.

Tatis for a washed up James Shields. And White Sox fans thought the Brock trade was bad?

Dodgers are still -300 or thereabouts to win the NL West.

Padres offered at odds of slightly better than 2/1.

Yesterday on MLB Network they were dissecting the Dodgers roster. They split it into two separate teams. I can't argue with their assertion that both Dodger teams would be over .500 and possibly both contenders for the playoffs.

They are absolutely going nuts, no way Padres can make money out of this strategy of going for it. Their TV contract is so limited and will always be limited. Their stadium will fill up more so they have some upside, but its just a poor market to serve. Maybe they have gotten a sense that they can squeeze a lot more money out of the region with the Chargers gone, but I can't see it happening. I know a lot of people who live in the San Diego area and almost every one of them goes to Padre games to watch their opponent. If you are a Cubs, Dodgers, Mets, etc fan, how good the Padres are makes no difference to you in deciding on attending a game or not. The only thing that might make sense is if they are prepping up the team for sale in a few years. If not I could see them selling off Tatis and other high priced talent in 3-4 years.

The Padres Owe Fernando Tatís Jr. $340 Million. He Owes an Investment Fund Millions From His Payday.
As an 18-year-old, Tatís made a deal with Big League Advance, which advances pay to minor league players in exchange for a slice of their MLB earnings. Now it’s time to pay.

Investors in Big League Advance include Cleveland Browns executive Paul DePodesta and Marvin Bush, the son of the late President George H.W. Bush

Padres still have question marks on the mound. I'll take the Dodgers in 2021. 2022..........now we can start to debate it
The most important thing - the Dodgers will keep adding if there is an injury, can SD? I think the Padres minors are in good shape, which really will help them.

The only question on the mound for SD is which backup middle infielder gets fed to the wolves during garbage time.

There will be some players who will get crushed by this. Instead of the teams taking advantage of them, it'll be the wall street types. The latin players will be the most vulernable.

We've seen this before. Teams who "win the offseason" usually struggle in that first year. Maybe they get things figured out in 2022, but Dodgers still clearly the team to beat this year.

still think books should offer winning percentage instead of wins now.

Some books did that for the NBA. I do agree "Win %" eliminates "No Action" bets where our money was tied up for 6-8 months (or more) and we get a refund and not a win. NHL can do this on a PPG basis

Payday loans should not be a part of any sport. Leave that for the Teddy KGBs of the world.

Seems a no brainer really. If they want they can put in parenthesis what that implies on the scheduled season for those who don't want to think at that level or go pull up a calculator.
Just make it half the season to be a live bet.
