WORLD POKER EXCHANGE LAUNCHES “NO RAKE” POKER

St. Johns Antigua – World Poker Exchange (www.Worldpx.com) announced today a major pricing initiative that threatens to radically transform the $5.5-billion online poker industry. Called “No Rake Poker,” the World Poker Exchange plan poses a direct challenge to standalone poker rooms that do not have access to additional revenue streams.

Under the online poker industry’s current business model, poker rooms obtain operating revenue by collecting a flat charge from every pot, known as the “rake.” Rake charges are fairly constant across the industry and can easily reach $10 to $25 per hour per player, making online poker an extremely lucrative proposition for operators, but an expensive one for the average player.

Under World Poker Exchange’s No Rake program, the rake for both cash games and tournament play will be eliminated across the board, with each player’s rake being tabulated and returned to his or her account on a weekly basis.

According to Managing Director Haden Ware, “We’re fortunate to have a great strategic position, due to the extensive crossover between our sports betting and card room businesses. While no-rake isn’t an option for most companies, we’re confident that free poker will deliver major new traffic to our other businesses, including sports wagering, live betting, horse racing and casino wagering. While many online players are skilled enough to break even or win against fellow players, it is difficult to reach a net win while continuously paying a rake.”

Serious and casual players alike are lining up for the program’s launch. According to poker professional Max Pescatori, "For those of us who like to play high-stakes tournaments online, it makes no sense to play anywhere else. The savings will be huge."

I THINK THEY IMPROVED BY ABOUT 300 PLAYERS TODAY...BUT THEY STILL HAVE A LONG WAY TO GO TO CATCH THE BIGGER PLAYERS IN THE CARDROOM BUSINESS.....THE NEWS HAS TO REACH THE PLAYERS, SO LETS GIVE IT A WEEK OR TWO TO MEASURE THE RESULTS.....

What has Party Poker's stock done in the last 3 days? I would think it would have to drop on this news. It would be like Target announcing that every item in their store will be sold for 50% less than the Walmart price.

To be honest, in most of my poker forums not a word has been said about it. And to be honest, I dont think they care.

An average player can make $20-$50 an hour, per talbe

Its surprising that everyone is missing the real news here.

Do you guys REALIZE how much money in rake you'll earn back after playing a six handed game for 10 hours. Think about it, and then you'll realize how good of a deal this is.

This is unreal. Now you just have to be an average poker player to make a living out of it. Seriouisly.

A six handed table can deal 140 hand an hour, especially there, averaging $2.00 an hour, playing the average number of hands 2.00/6=$.333x140=$46.00 an hour, times 10 hours..makes a guy over $400 a day, GRINDING IT OUT, not included WINS.

I'm shocked that we are the first to hear about this, and no one is jumping off the fucking walls.

Seriously, this is one hell of a promotion.

Add in the fact that you can play 2 or 3 tables at a time, now you got a real earner. Over an $100 an hour.

Iron.

The poker forum owners would delete it. Rake support poker forums. Why would a poker forum push no rake, only way is if they prepaid space. The bigger poker forums, make 5 to 6 figures in poker rake montly

Also there another company that started two weeks ago with no rake, you have to pay a fee once a year.

So u want see no banners poping up all over the place about this on the major poker forums, unless WPE drop some made money for the banner space
