RESORT FEE BATTLES

No problem reading article here either. The problem with resort fees is that these amenities used to be free. It's highway robbery.

Helps to know someone in the casino industry back east, not to mention getting friendly with one of my poker dealers. A little giving spoilage every now and then alleviates any worry of hotel fees.

I understand why these Fees exist. Not saying I like it but I understand. But the hotels need to realize eventually things will swing the other way and when they do.................

A small local casino near me that opened a few years ago here in Upstate NY just started adding a $10 resort fee to all rooms. The hotel is nice but very small, I would not call it a resort, more of a hotel with a casino attached. That made me laugh when I saw that. So its not just limited to Vegas

Notice few of them have casinos. Not exactly the experience most want when going to Vegas. Or Winkys choice, very nice area but 90% of tourists would be pissed off if they got there and realized how far from the action they were. Lastly, quite a few places are just off the strip around Paradise which is rather ghetto for walking around. This area is ok for driving, but you probably want to avoid walking much.

100% agree on the area being nice but also close to the Red Rock and not much else. We like it cuz it is close to where Sis lives so for us it is perfect and we are away from the casinos which is really what we like. We can park our car right outside our room if staying on the 1st floor (which is usually the case because Dad walks with a cane and thus we like getting rooms on the 1st floor to minimize walking for him) or short walking distance if on the 2nd floor.

A federal aeronautical study suggests big plans may be in the works for the Casino Royale site on The Strip.

A Federal Aviation Administration proposal, currently listed as “circularized,” shows Las Vegas resident Craig Dudley listed as the sponsor of a study for the Casino Royale site at 3411 Las Vegas Blvd. South. The study was first reported by Vital Vegas at Casino.org and the proposal’s description calls for a building development project.

The FAA is conducting an aeronautical study as the proposal is to construct or operate a “building to a height of 699 feet above ground level.”
