A couple little known facts on greenland , it has no roads between cities - the longest road is 3 miles long and there's only 1 other road that's 1 mile on dirt. the only way to travel between towns is by boat, ferry, dogsled or plane.
Greenland also has nukes - in 1968 a US B 52 crashed carrying 4 nukes and 1 was never recovered.

Greenland means a lot to US security. I can see us buying or leasing it for many years minimum 20 years but more like 99 years
I think several have been lost around the world, one was in savanna GA harbor I believe. It's still intact under the mud somewhere.
That's the problem, you cant have a state with 50,000 people. Join alaska and they have instant senators and reps without a fuss, the 50K of voters doesn't F anything up politically.
They can even change the name of Alaska to Alaska Greenland.
If we eventually take the canadian Yukon and NW territories they can all join into 1 massive state.
The population of the yukon and NW territories is about 44K each.
US early warning is up in canada...lots of oil in the artic is why we want canada plus whatever is in the ground in canada and greenland

There's oil in arctic canada but there's no need to develop it when alberta has like 400 billion bbls of tar sands.
I checked and greenland has 5000 cars but you cant go anywhere because there are no roads outside of cities, there are 100 miles of roads that are all inside cities - basically streets that go 2-3 miles to the edge of town and stop. Greenland has 1 muslim - that's a plus.
i bet china offering a better deal with greenland than trump
as far as oil... you need the oil under the ice before china and russia
Yes it is, greenland will not be bought or sold, it will be taken for free. Expect a referendum this year on independence, possibly a dual vote on indy and joining the US.
trump might be wrong to take over canada, greenland and panama canal... BUT it just might be better for the US at the end... china and russia are in south america and cuba... they are closing in on the US
I dont think canada will become the US anytime soon, greenland and the canal will be plenty.
Down the road I could see parts of canada such as alberta,saskatawan becoming states, but that's far off and would basically end the nation of canada as it would be split in 2 since there are no roads around them.

russia has 57 military bases in the artic...Nato has 32
this is more about the military than anything along with getting ready for the artic wars about the oil and resources with russia and china. Plus it is cheaper to send goods thru the artic than suez canal etc... past admins failed getting ice breakers like russia and china

Ice breakers are good, I think the US has 1 or 2, which aren't always in service, russia has dozens.. The problem is they are only useful in the summer, when they are trying to break through weak ice, i dont believe even in the russian arctic they can use them year round.
