Made a bet on Heat against Magic, took+8.5 at gvr.
News broke that Tracy mccrady wasn't playing and line dropped to 5.
Manteris found out that I made the bet and wanted me to void the ticket.
I said no and he kicked me out, I think it was a two dime bet.
Happened probably 20 years ago.

have you tried to get back into the stations in terms of sports betting?
I mean wtf 20 years is long enough.
This was common practice back then when you beat the book to a key injury release. give back the bet or get thrown out. My favorite guy Walker when he was at the Mirage did it frequently to guys.
Runners would get thrown out of the Mirage for not giving back the bet then just move over to treasure island which was a sister book to the Mirage. Then when guys again beat them to an injury release Walker would call over to the sports book manager at the TI and ask who was that who made the bet? When told he would go ballistic and have the guy thrown off all Mirage properties. LOL. The the group would just put a different runner in at the Mirage and do it all over again like whack a mole. i miss them good times.

I recall this story got widespread publicity Nationally and locally after it was published in the Daily Racing Form that and it lasted for quite some time. Many people were pissed off and the deserved negative publicity was directed at Art Manteris and the Stations. Many publications and people called for the Stations to fire or at a minimum to suspend Manteris . The Stations went into a damage control mode and defended Manteris and his outrageous conduct and did nothing to him and only said how great he was.

Travesty especially once game begins. That's insane. If it won, did they cash it? I'd imagine so but this story is so insane I'm almost afraid of the answer.

They told me their findings would be confidential and not released to the public.
Nothing more then a slap on the wrist, if that.

2015 I believe. I had won maybe 10k off 5dimes in college football and lost probably 4k in april MLB. Out of nowhere they release probably 40 game of year cfb lines and they're terribly off. Its April so I'm sure they just threw something out there.
I bet my remaining balance knowing I had the best of it.. 3400ish nickels. Very next day Mauk of Mizzou suspended I call dink and 2 others and have them transfer me I think 2k and tell them the bet as well as soon as I get down. This is not crazy money at all but the line was so absurd. They had Mizzou-3 @WVU week 1. My numbers with Mauk we wvu-1.5 and knowing Missouri would have to go with a fr. Etc it was free money in my mind. I think it closed-6ish.. I know it won.
10 hours later I get a email asking I contact live support. I ignore it and 24 hours later I get a email that my acount is closed. I go to live support and get the dreaded please wait for tony cs rep.
I made a mistake right from the beginning by asking what this shit is about. Apparently you cant use cuss words at his cs reps. He was a tyrant and I was stealing money long enough now, syndicate betting, steam chasing, wanna be crew etc I mean hes really going off. I doubt I beat 5d for more than 10k total in the year I was there. They had no way to get real money on the site then. Hes way out of bounds lol.
He said I had 2 choices he voids every missouri/wvu bet by me and who transferred me money and we keep our accounts.
He let's me keep all of my bets and I never make a bet again. Think he called me a clown or something. I took a walk and he slow paid me every penny 8 months later.
Bluffed the others accounts. Still try to log in about once a year tbh.

I've had almost all good experiences. Had a jazz agent who's figures were always off and we would have to correct them every week.. funny thing his figure mistakes always favored him. Dropped him.
Had a betpop agent steal all my plays after limiting me and bet them using a bot on the screen. Dropped him.
Tossed from 5dimes over story above. Tossed from bol for abusing their openers and actually deserved that one.
Had a eagle guy always offering me new outs that either didnt exist or weren't as advertised instead of just telling me he didng want my action. Last straw he offered me a Hong Kong account that I couldnt actually bet on.
Never ever had even a slight problem with cris, grande, Catalina, jazz (directly) or abc.
I have legal outs now here and other than circa, maybe Westgate not sure how much action I'll give them. I hate change

2011 I believe. Bodog and another I think it was called Skyline. Dink introduced me to cris maybe a year later. I don't know if you watched the youtube of the betting class but I really did believe Cris was a person for the first month or so lol, I remember calling him and saying when is THIS GUY going to put up football lines

Canbet was great, I think they paid 2.8/1 on two-team parlays. Another book that was great was the original Hollywood Sportsbook, before Sportsbook.com bought them out.

I think bowman's is betpop now. Older Guy I used to play cards with in LA is a agent for them and he still referred to it as bowman's. You actually probably know him if you ever played the 15/30 LHE at Hollywood park.

The Stardust and Station Casinos competed for sports betting dollars but Las Vegas bookmakers rarely bash one of their own.
Manteris had big-time juice at the time (still does) while Lupo and Scucci were trying to make their mark in the industry.

The one thing I most remember about the Stardust Line shows.................
.........Friday Night during Football Season you hosted a show at the Stardust from 9-10 (Mighta been 8-9?) and then one at The Riviera from 10-11 (Or 9-10). The Stardust show ended around the 58-minute mark on the hour - as soon as Gene Harvey gave the "all clear" sign to you. The second it ended you were off. You dashed out of there ASAP, ran across the street (back when that could be done - before they put a fence in the divider to keep people from being hit crossing the street) thru that Food Court at The Riviera and into the sporstbook there. Back then the dash between the 2 could be done in less than 30 seconds which was great to for those trying to get an extra 1/2 point at either book. Or in your case to make it to the book and on air in time for the Riviera show to start.
I'm sure you recall that, too. How many years did you do that?

Drew Lock did, BUT in 2015, not 2016 when Missouri played West Virginia to begin the 2016 season. The West Virginia game was start number 9 for Lock.
Lock's first start as Missouri's QB (as a true Freshman) was at home against South Carolina (10/2/15) coached by the "vaunted" Steve Spurrier. Missouri won 24-10. I don't recall the point spread.
By the way, Missouri did NOT play West Virginia in 2015 -- Locks true freshman year. Drink must have been drinking something besides milkshakes when he made his post above.
Maty Mauck started the previous game against Kentucky in Lexington, which was his last, and Missouri lost 21-13. He was subsequently kicked off the team for the rest of the season, and Lock took over as QB for the remaining 8 games.
Early in the next year "on January 26, 2016, Mauk was, (again), indefinitely suspended from the Missouri football team after an old video surfaced of him snorting a white substance; he was dismissed from the program on January 28, 2016." (Source: Kansas City Star via Wikipedia)
These facts don't match up with Drink's timeline. He says he made bets in April, but Mauck was permanently kicked off the team in January of 2016.

It was well known that Mauck was permanently kicked off the team in January as noted above. Hence the quote from the Kansas City Star, "he was dismissed from the program on January 28, 2016." (Source: Kansas City Star via Wikipedia).
This information was in the St. Louis paper, and on St. Louis radio and TV.
"They had a great DB that year though and a LB EJ gaines and Micheal Sam if I remember that team correctly," wrote Drink. Those guys senior season was 2013, NOT 2015.
The 2015 team did have a great defense, but a lousy offense. Barry Odom was in his first season as defensive coordinator. Odom was NOT the offensive coordinator -- Josh Henson was in his third season as offensive coordinator. Gary Pinkel was in his last season as head coach.
Barry Odom replaced Pinkel as head coach after Pinkel retired for health reasons (I think Pinkel would have stayed on if he thought he was going to have a good team) upon Pinkel recommending Odom to clueless athletic director Mack Rhodes, who thankfully left for Baylor. I much prefer Jim Sterk as Missouri AD.
After being fired as Missouri head coach (his dream job as Odom was a former MU linebacker in the late 1990s), Odom is now the defensive coordinator at Arkansas. Interestingly, new head coach Eli Drinkwitz kept on almost all of Odom's defense staff, including defensive coordinator Ryan Walters, an Odom protege. Make no mistake -- Odom ran that defense. Underestimate Barry Odom as a defensive coordinator at your own risk.
The linebacker your thinking of, who was a "tackling machine" (152 tackles in 12 games) on the 2015 defense, was Kentrell Brothers who was drafted in the 5th round by the Minnesota Vikings and was a backup linebacker for the Minnesota Vikings for four seasons 2016-2019.

Odom at DC at Ark and Briles at OC. What do you think they do this year? They got a run game and no QB that I can tell. Last year's defense was awful. I still dont understand the Pittman hire.
As for Mizzou I think they made a helluva upgrade in Drinkwitz. I think they needed to go offense after Odom was void of any last year and Pinkel was flat for his last years.
Still a ways to go but I think they are in much better place than last year.

I'm not at all disputing any of the facts. I doubt I was tossed over the Mauk/lock mix up. I don't believe Lock had any market Value nor did anyone else. Im sure it was more for making multiple bets at small limits in a extremely small market at the time and then having others make the same bet on same game.
I was happy to get paid but being tossed from a book a small, very small winner and verbally messed with was not funny to me at the time. 4 years later it is still the worst experience I've had with any out.
Have you found anyone to help correct your model yet? I hope you find help especially early in the season. Goodluck as always.
I think missouri will benefit much more in 20' with Drinkwitz running attack. I feel like Roundtree has been around for a decade but I liked the other back they had last year that caught the ball well. Robinson could be a real threat at QB after waiting all of last year.
