For the sixth straight MLB season, every game on the final day of the regular season will start shortly after 3:00 p.m. ET.

So the Cardinals are just going to end the season with fewer games than most others? Just more asterisks to add to this season.

If their postseason position is still in mathematical jeopardy after Sunday, the original postponed 2 games not made up against Detroit would likely take place, completing a potential 60 games scheduled.

yep... theyll play one if needed on Monday vs. Detroit, or theyll play a doubleheader if they have to. Pretty crazy

The Cardinals’ season was put on hold for 16 days because of a COVID-19 outbreak during a trip to Minneapolis and Milwaukee.

Eighteen members of the organization tested positive for coronavirus.

Ridiculous money grab for MLB

Totally agree. The whole season is a farce with different length games, and a base runner being put on 2nd base in extra innings.

How is that fair competition when some regulation games are 7 innings and others are 9 innings?

Could you imagine a NFL season where some games were 46 minutes 40 seconds instead of all regulation games being 60 minutes? A 7/9ths NHL hockey game would also be 46 minutes 40 seconds.

That's the hypothetical NFL and NHL equivalent for a 7 inning baseball game. Absurd, and lacking in integrity.

A close battle between Manfred and Roger Goodell for the worst commissioner in all of sports.

Mr. lack of integrity, Goodell, had the video tapes destroyed in the "spygate" case. He also displayed epic dishonesty in the St. Louis Rams move to Los Angeles as the NFL didn't follow its own rules concerning franchise relocation, causing the city to spend and waste 15-20 million dollars on a potential new stadium in St. Louis (land acquisition costs, architectural plans, legal fees, etc.).

The City of St. Louis's lawsuit against the NFL is moving through the court system and the NFL has lost at every step of the way so far. Next up is depositions. I hope the city doesn't settle with the NFL until that happens at the very least. These people need to be exposed for who they are.

The runner at second base to start each extra half inning was added post pandemic. Several pointed out reasons were to speed up games and for player safety precautions. Same held true for the 7 inning doubleheaders going post pandemic.

It wouldn’t surprise me if all of these rules stay for 2021.

they were exposed when they said they did not want sports betting... The bettors always knew that they were liars. Look who is first in line to make all the deals with the casino's ... The leagues that is who. LOL

I can say I like 16 teams in the playoffs. That being said there is no reason to play baseball in October. Chop off September and start the 16 team playoff battle.

Let’s see how this playoff scenario goes?

Today has to be an under day for games with two teams not in the playoffs and teams who cant move up or down in the playoff standings.

It's like turning into the NBA with seeding and under .500 teams getting rewarded. Please go back to the way it was in '21.

All except one, time change to 1pm ET in the Detroit/KC game, maybe to allow Detroit more time to play St Louis Monday if necessary.
