I still call the LA Chargers the San Diego Chargers and I still call the Arizona Cardinals the St Louis Cardinals…going to be a long, long time before I call the Cleveland Indians the Guardians….not going to happen….I’m just getting used to calling Baltimore the Ravens rather than the Colts…

Whatever they call them selves will always be the Red Skins to me. Early 1960s. No NFL in the south. No cable or satellite TV. Every week we got a Rskins game. Team was terrible. I think the QB was Norm Snead. I became a fan.

Simple solution: just refer to the NFL team as Washington, and the MLB team as Cleveland. I refuse to call the Cleveland baseball team the Guardians. And many in the Cleveland metro area agree.

Since Indianapolis assumed the Colts name, it was easier adjusting to the Baltimore Ravens.

I still pair San Diego with the Chargers and the Indians and Redskins likely will continue. However, I did sort of enjoy calling Washington the Football Team. .

There is nothing more demeaning and stereotypical than the Fighting Irish and nobody has a problem with it. It's a school or sports team nickname. Who cares. Wiping out tradition to satisfy woke and then when you do, find out you are still miserable and angry. Even more.

Native Americans expressed a major issue with all of the caricatures, like Redskins (derogatory), Braves, Indians, etc etc.

To date, I have yet to see a sizable group of Irish people put together a petition against Notre Dame.

If it happens, I will support the group.

Off air it is. The Native American backlash you cite would be notable if it were Truth Social. The reality is it was an inorganic backlash. A play Democrats and media have perfected. Here is a backhanded compliment. Democrats are short handed phenoms. They continuously beat Republicans with minority support. It is amazing. Republicans couldn't hit the over in a gay Madison Cawthorne orgy. At least the old Republicans. Trump and DeSantis represent the new Republicans. Each have their strengths and weaknesses.
