Will there be a weekly podcast here at EOG with John Kelly as the host and FACTSMAN as the wingman for the upcoming football season?

This is getting close to pigskin time.

The people here want to hear the best host in radio land John Kelly to get back on the mic and lead us through the ups and downs of the gambling world.

It would be ideal to have this five days a week but I am lowering the bar to just a weekly podcast.

The wingman I aim to here is the factsman. 1 day a week isn't much to ask.

We have sometime to get this ironed out and set up.

Give the people what they want. Or just what I want.

I sort of remember FM reaching out to JK, but they failed to put anything together.

Ideally M thru F would be ideal, but M-W-F also would suffice.

Once a week isn't enough, because there needs to be time to recap (Mondays) as well as preview the upcoming card (Fridays). Wednesdays would be a great to have random guests from LV and the EOG community.

His free time is probably worth more than the money offered to do it.

Big commitment to be available same time five days a week.

As you get older you time is more valuable.

How JK hasn't jumped on the podcast bandwagon is beyond me.
That chick from Barstool just made millions, I don't understand it

There is no way podcast numbers are accurate. Thousands and thousands subscribe/download and don't listen. People hire guys from fiverr who are overseas and have thousands upon thousands of fake people subscribe and download, it's a giant game

O'Royken is a smart man.

Enjoying my time away from the radio.

Took in the dog racing action at Iowa Greyhound Park this past weekend.

Dubuque, Iowa is an interesting city.

I visited The Field of Dreams movie site in nearby Dyersville.

The city of Dubuque was founded in 1788 and chartered in 1837, the charter came nearly 10 years before Iowa was admitted as the 29th state.

Dubuque's city slogan is "Masterpiece on the Mississippi" though some like to say "Dubuque is where Iowa started."

Major League Baseball has 24-hour security guarding the field where the White Sox and Yankees will play a regular-season game on August 12 in Dyersville, Iowa.

I saw the light stanchions but the temporary seating is not in place.

The foul poles are up.

Only 8,000 people will be in attendance.

Tough ticket.

There will be no outfield seats.

Corn fields will occupy the space beyond the outfield walls.

No joke.

Julien Dubuque founded the city in 1788.

The lure at Iowa Greyhound Park is named Julien.

Instead of the announcer saying, "Here comes Sparky" or "Here comes Rusty," he says, "Here comes Julien..."

FanDuel operates the sports book at Diamond Jo Casino, a Boyd Gaming property.

And BetGenius powers the sports book remotely at the Q Casino, a property owned by the city of Dubuque.

When I asked about a live betting price that suspiciously moved against me as the bet went for approval, the young supervisor behind the counter said, "I have nothing to do with the odds."

I asked where the oddsmaking headquarters are located and he guessed, "Somewhere in Europe?"

Welcome to sports betting in Iowa.

If I had a say, no need for a permanent type of co-host. And I have nothing against Factsman. I enjoy his stories and contributions. A David Gleason-type co-host is just not needed. John has enough connections from Vegas, Offshore people, and the sports forum communities to do a show every day. A 1-3 day a week type podcast would be great...but make it 2 hours at least. Would give ample time for some sponsorship plugs and digging into a more in-depth topic whatever it be. He can do it from home or on the road as I know he travels a lot. Sponsors would pay for his time and/or offer prizes for contest winners. So many topics to cover. Just don't cut it to an hour, even if it's just a day or a couple of days a week. I wouldn't even mind if we all made some donations to get him set up with good quality equipment whatever that may be to help make the launch quicker and the shows as a whole better. [microphones etc]

Given John's response I can only conclude...

John Kelly is retired from radio/podcasting.

It was a good ride while it lasted.

We can barely get a Monday Morning blog from JK anymore. He is so talented but I feel he doesn’t get the accolades for all the time he exhausts. Thus I feel the same way about the nightly podcast. Too much exhausting work

After a month, Dink Talk is on hiatus. Seems podcasting is more work than people realize.
There’s pre-planning, guest scheduling, post editing and all the technological components, on top of the actual show.
It’s like a job.
