Anyone gamble on those machines in bars?

Just wondering if anyone gambles on poker machines in bars?
They are big in my town, we got machines like Cherry Master, Joker Poker, Treasure Tens, Black Jack etc.
I just got my ass beat on a thing called treasure tens. It is a nickel a point and I lost a grand. It is a multi hand poker game with a jackpot treasure chest. I'm just wondering if they are big in other parts?
Addicting as hell, just like sports gambling but sometimes you can win big.

used to be real big around here in the legions, vfw's , local bars, etc...Until the riverboat got here, so then they started pressuring, and excise started cracking down on them, so they are hard to find now, and u have to be 'well known" at the bar to get paid out...otherwise, they say "for amusement only".....

But the American Legion where my dad was commander, was in a very small town, and they had a small room to the side, with like 6 machines, mostly cherry master, and they used to profit over a grand a week on them...."profit"....and they ddint have them set real tight....i think they were 80% back then......most of them are about 65-70 now..

In CA. bars they usually have something like jacks or better where it costs a quarter a hand. You can't win anything.

Re: Anyone gamble on those machines in bars?

If the rake is 20-35% I can't see being to beat this in the long run but enlighten us if you can:rolleyes:

Re: Anyone gamble on those machines in bars?

I remember when I was growing up in NJ, they had a lot of illegal keno machines in various coffee shops around. People were really addicted to them and would lose lots of money.

Where I live in Wisconsin the machines are every where. Just like anything else it is all about timing. Cherry Master, Bug Machine are two of the most popular.

Re: Anyone gamble on those machines in bars?

I have personally never played them but in Canada they are attempting to ban them as people (mostly women BTW)are getting addicted to them and losing all their money

I don't have much, if any experience on these machines. Surely never played more than 3 times.

The most important thing about the machines is to learn there tendencies. My buddy and I partner to play them and we really play at 2 places. I will not say we win all the time but we have had really good luck.

I'm a good 2 hours away from the nearest casino so these are the only things we have other than off track betting and I got my ass handed to me by one of them last night to the tune of $2000.

WOW that is alot of money to throw into a machine without popping them. Not sure what machine you are playing.

Yes the payouts are usually set to around 50%, however they are not as sophisticated as slot machines. They are more similar to arcade games. There are distinct patterns, and with some training they are easy to beat. I know a guy that makes a good living just making the rounds on a daily basis on these machines.

On the other hand, if you don't know what you are doing...you will get killed, obviously.

Crazy...has he, or do you think he will ever get "blacklisted" from the bar for winning? Sounds silly, but you never know one of these crazy bar owners might get sick of taking the hits

He has been booted from at least one, and has seen machines taken out in some locations and replaced with other types of machines. Certain machines are very easy to beat, he says he can win however much he'd like. Others are much tougher and he may only be able to grind out a small win. In any case, he does it "right" if you want to call it that. He has a regular schedule mapped out, so he doesn't hit the same place too often. He drinks/eats while he is there. He tips the bartender well. He will lie about the payout, like if he puts in $200 and cashes out for $400 he might tell the bartender that he was in for $500 and actually lost for the session. As long as he dosen't get greedy, I think he can continue to win forever. He has about 30 different bars he goes to. So he just hits each one for a small hit.

wow, that is a great hustle he's got man...I wonder if he could just go cross country and beat machines everywhere...would be a fun ass road trip

Re: Anyone gamble on those machines in bars?

LOL, yea its possible. I think the Cherry Master '96 machines are the easiest to beat. He says..name your price on those. There are some glitches in the program. The guy that taught him how to do it, hits all the truck stops. I guess instead of cash at some of them they payout in merchandise. Gas cards, food, etc. LOL

Re: Anyone gamble on those machines in bars?

My state has a gazillion of them - max of 6 to a bar - state sponsored! Called video lottery! Worlds cruelest joke. I have heard that as well that single women and single retired ladies play them the most. Sounds to me like a poor/stupid man's tax.

Let's buy one of the machines and put it in our garage! There was an excellent show on the Discovery channel. The casino hired a guy to look at their machines in his lab to see if he could find a glitch or flaw. He did and had his friends help him pound the wood to the casino. He just identified a pattern that was repetitious and did not do anything mechanical.

But, he was arrested and went to jail for it.

Re: Anyone gamble on those machines in bars?

The key is getting an "IN" at the bar, as they don not pay off strangers. You have to know someone or be a regular customer.

I wish I could figure out the total pattern. If you are familiar with the place you will have a good idea when these machines are about to pop. I don't believe that anyone would get booted off because the place is still making money on the ones that are putting thier money in. It is funny watching people that don't know how to play some of the machines that you can hold things on and they don't.

Maybe where you live I know that I don't have to know anyone to cash out.

Re: Anyone gamble on those machines in bars?

Yea around here they are very selective on who they pay out since its illegal and they fear sting operations.

Re: Anyone gamble on those machines in bars?

Then they should not accept money!!!! Don't get me wrong I don't go bar to bar looking for machines to play. Anytime I am at the bar I know people there so that is never an issue.

Re: Anyone gamble on those machines in bars?

I agree with Bowl Me One. I know systems to beat some of them. Reg cherry masters and the Dyna 3's with the watermelon bonus and fruit bonus. Say you bet 8 and hold 2 1 bars there is a way to raise the bet as high as you want and bet up to the max 64 usually but sometimes 96 or 32. If they have not modified the computer chip, some of them are very beatable and I have won a ton the last 5 years. Best thing to get in truck stops are tracfone cards and sell them on ebay for about 80 to 90% of the retail. Goodluck. I will post more later tonight when I get back and any questions just ask.

Re: Anyone gamble on those machines in bars?

No. I only play Blackjack, and do not trust computer versions of that great game, if you know what I mean. . . .

Re: Anyone gamble on those machines in bars?

The only glitch I know is a machine called Joker Poker. If it has enough money pumped into it it goes into this can't lose mode and if you play the max bet you are guaranteed to win $1500. The key is to get your points down to 60 and hit max (which is 30 points) then eventually you will hit a 5 of a kind, after raising it pays 6000 points which is equal to $1500. And if your points go down to zero you just put a dollar n and it will kick you back up. The only problem is that it could take hours but the payoff is worth it. But the machine has to be in this mode otherwise it doesn't work. You can rcognize this mode when it just keeps spitting out pairs every hand.

Re: Anyone gamble on those machines in bars?

An old cherry master one is that you bet 1 credit until you lose 5 consecutive spins and then you spin 1 max bet and it is guaranteed to win every sixth spin plus the 1 credit losers build up the pool. But all the bars in my town figured that system out real quick and raised the minimum bet on every machine to 8 and it no longer works.

Re: Anyone gamble on those machines in bars?

I used to make a decent amount off these machines. But that was when I was part owner of the bar.

Frankly, I'm skeptical about the ability to beat these things. The things being described here would take quite a bit of programming and aren't likely to be accidents.

On the other hand, the programs were created by a human, and he could have used it as his retirement nest egg.

Re: Anyone gamble on those machines in bars?

Yea, I don't really know any of the specifics, but I guess sometimes there is just an indicator where you will know for sure that the next spin will be a winner. You simply bet the max. It might be a very small payout, or a large one, but you know you will win that next spin. There are other glitches, like I know that sometimes on the double up feature the machine sometimes flashes the card, so you know if its high or low, and get a free double. And like someone else mentioned sometimes the machine just gets into a pay mode. It has to payout...so he will just go for the big score...he'll keep going for the double up after a win, cuz he knows even if he loses the machine will give him another winner.

Hey can you fill me in on a couple of cherry master secrets, it would be greatly appreciated. thanx.

Re: Anyone gamble on those machines in bars?

Now wait.

The next grand Oceans 13 gambling hope is playing video poker in bars?

Short pay schedules and who knows what payout percentages your State allows. (And if the machines are illegal, I don't think you have to worry about legal payout percentages anyway.)

And then anyone playing video poker in a bar probably (what do I mean probably? Am I crazy?) won't even come close to playing the correct (not even close to perfect) strategy. And then there's the intoxication factor.

Better play small, for fun, and for a very short time.

If they have a coin changer in the bar, I would recommend playing that. At least you will break even.
