Michigan St +7 against Louisville.. Explanation of why I like them inside, Anyone here with or against me?

I think Louisville is getting a little too much love.. They are solid no doubt but they have had very easy opponets thus far and that was known when the brackets come out..

Michigan St is one of those teams that knows how to keep it close. Louisville might be the more athletically gifted team but that doesn't always translate into a win ie=Fla St/Wisky.

Michigan St is likely to play a zone defense that will make UL shoot from the outside more which I think will only help the Spartans..

Like Louisville, Michigan St has a lot of depth. Michigan St has a lot of guys that are capable of having a 16-18 point night.

I think Michigan St has a very good chance of winning this game.. Getting 3 possessions looks awfully good to me..

Any thoughts?

i am against you

mich st = good team

l'ville = great fricken team

advantage big to l'ville, i think they're up by 6-9 pts late and FTs put them over the top

things get magnified in tourney games and 5 pt leads turn into 8 pt leads in the final 45 secs so don't cry how "it was such a close gm and l'ville got FTs to take the lead"

i warned you ahead of time not to blow your money

What makes Louisville such a world beater?

I think its not much of a reach to think they aren't even the best team in their conference.. I dont get all this Louisville invincible talk.

l'ville can play at any pace, and is taller, faster, better than mich st

l'vill is much better than mich st

but go throw your money away on unathletic sparty who should have lost to usc and ku

(usc was 1-10 from 3 land and taj gibson had to sit with 4 fouls)

Should have lost my ass. They won both games and there was nothing controversial or tricky about it. That's an Izzo team. They keep the game close and then they're mentally tougher than you at the end and they beat you.

Louisville has lost to Minnesota this year, so they certainly can lose to MSU. Louisville still doesn't have a true PG, which IZZO will exploit, and they tend to run their offense through Terence Williams. If MSU can clog the lane and put ball pressure on Sosa, they'll be in the game the entire time.

MSU is balanced and they're a very good defensive team.

STOP SAYING THEY'RE UNATHLETIC. THAT'S WRONG! You don't like MSU and we understand that. Throwing our money away? We're not the one laying 7 points on a 1 seed who is still streaky (And coming off an incredible shooting night) against a battle tested MSU team with arguably the best coach in America leading them. Kalin Lucas will eat Sosa alive.

Hard to say we aren't the best team in the conference, after winning the regular season, conference tournament, and finishing the season as the number 1 team in the country...

agree with mich st. very good team and louisville is imo the weakest 1 seed. i think louisville has a good shot of winning, but 7 points is too many for them to be giving. people need to stop bringing up the unc game for mich st. louisville is not unc. unc is the top team in the nation and mich st was missing a key player

I don't see how Sparty can handle L'ville's press. They haven't seen anything like it all year. Suton will be rendered useless in a game at this pace and against L'ville's athleticism up front. He'll probably hurt MSU more than he'll help them. Morgan should be playing in the women's tourney. And this is the one game all season Sparty doesn't have the coaching advantage. This one might get out of hand. Could be shades of MSU/Memphis in the Sweet 16 last season. L'ville just way too talented and athletic.

lmfao, that game means absolutely nothing.

l'ville is a 7 pt fave for a reason, and it's because they are far superior to mich st and have advantages at every position on the floor

l'ville is loaded and on a mission, and mich st will be nothing more than 3 or 4 speed bumps on the way to the final 4

Memphis last year was a much better team than Louisville this year.

I would actually say all four 1 seeds last year were better teams than all four 1 seeds this year, other than maybe UNC. This year's UNC is better than last years UNC, but still worse than the other three 1 seeds last year.

Kalin Lucas is great with the ball and MSU has three guys who can all handle the ball with out turning it over. I think they'll actually capatalize on the pressure and turn it into easy buckets. Louisville won't be able to press as much because they just played two days before.

MSU is a very good, and disciplined, defensive team. I think they'll force Louisville to the perimeter and pack it in, in the middle. Louisville shot out of their minds from the outside in their last game, and that's not likely to happen again.

I think Izzo is a better game prep coach than Pitino too.

no fukking way, no freaking fukking damn way that UNC this yr is not better than ucla last yr, ucla was one of the #1 seeds you know

hell, kansas last yr was not as good as this UNC team

kansas was down 9 with 2:12 to go to memphis and needed memphis to choke for them to win that game

Does being more athletic always work out? I remember everyone saying the same thing when Wisky played Fla St.. Wisky found a way to keep it close and come out ahead at the end..

Louisville is no doubt more athletically gifted, no question about it. But Izzo sure enough knows this and knows how to adapt.

Still dont understand the all the dick sucking Louisville is getting.. This team is very beatable..

biggest misconception in the world is that vegas books are afraid of the joe avg bettor, they are not

they set the lines to keep sharps action even, if the line is off, sharps will kill them, they are afraid of sharps

btw, oddsmakers do not set the line, the bettors do. if the line was l'ville -3 opening, it would have been bet up to 7

it opened 6 and immediately got bet up by THE SHARPS

Just wrong. The Sharps. You're a really funny guy, you really are. Do you know any sharps? Did they tell you this first hand.

The line is set to get even money, not % of bets, on one side. If they thought the $ thought MSU was the best team they'd make them the favorite. To think that books don't care about the average joe and what they'll be betting is dumb. If they opened this game at 'Ville -12 and every sharp thought it was a good line, but the mass population wanted the points the books would have set a bad line.

UCLA had two lottery picks.

Memphis had the #1 pick in the draft.

Kansas has 4 guys playing in the NBA this year.

From the Big 4 this year, what NBA players will come from them and how many stars? The strength of CBB was much greater last year.

Exactly. UCLA was not good this year, but last year they had tons and tons of talent. Kevin Love was a monster. Russell Westbrook was a great guard and played exceptional defense. Darren Collison is a great guard, maybe top 5 in the nation last year in terms of PG's. Then you have all the role players they had. UCLA had a great team last year.

Kansas and Memphis were just flat out stacked. Kansas entire starting roster got drafted I believe? At worst 4 of them did and they should all have long careers in the NBA.

Memphis had the most electric player in college, had another guy that was just a fantastic player built more for the college game in CDR, they had a beast down low in Joey Dorsey, and most of the talent they had on the team this year minus Evans.

I don't think people appreciate just how good the 1 seeds were last year. They were phenomenal and I don't expect to see a group of 4 as good for a very long time.

I definitely agree the Big East is strong. Louisville also is a very good team. Like you, most of us aren't disagreeing with that. We're just saying they aren't as good as most think, and I personally think they are the third strongest in their own conference. I'm not trying to disrespect the team because they have had a great year and are a great team. I just think there are better teams out there and 7 is too much vs Mich St.
