Any serious contender for the presidency will be very rich. The Wall Street and other corporate interests only want one of their own in power, and they will continue to provide financial support to ensure that. Obama's background is somewhat mysterious and vague, but I don't believe for a minute that he was only doing civil rights and community service work before he became President. I'm sure he has always been well connected to corporations because the first thing he did was create a cabinet filled with some of the most pro-military and pro-corporate advisors in any administration.

Sarah proposes slashing the corporate tax rate to 0% and offsetting that revenue by eliminating ALL forms of corporate welfare. She would also CUT CUT CUT federal programs and bureaucracies restoring the federal government to its constitutional boundaries. Her aggressive America-first "DRILL BABY, DRILL!" energy policy would be rocket fuel for the economy and place the US at the top of the food chain for the next 50 years.

I have to disagree with her on one point, though its mostly semantics.

It is not "crony capitalism."

That is a term coined by progressives to cast the blame of government-industry collusion and its failures on the free market and capitalism.

THE CORRECT TERM IS "CORPORATE SOCIALISM."

Once a business -- regardless of size -- colludes with the government for favoritism or monopoly at the expense of the consumer and competition that business leaves the ranks of "the free-market" and becomes a socialist/fascist enterprise. GE is a prime example. Corporations like GE pay ZERO taxes because the tax system is designed to benefit those with the most political clout. Its a system as immoral as is destined to collapse.

Fascism is actually the correct economic term, but the left has so destroyed the meaning of that term by using for ad hominem attacks that it would take too long to educate the victims of government-run schools.

It's "CORPORATE SOCIALISM", Sarah...drop the "CRONY CAPITALISM". Never EVER allow the radical left to frame the debate.

As a Democrat, I would vote for Sarah before I would re-elect the incompetent we have in office now. Not that any of the current candidates are remotely appealing to me. Romney is definitely at the bottom of the list - he would be too submissive to corporations given his background. Bachmann seems too extreme and anti-worker, and I don't know of anything she has accomplished. I know nothing about Perry and the rest of them aren't even worth mentioning. Whoever gets in, it will be another 4 years of the same Bush/Obama policies.

I saw part of the interview. I would not re-elect Obama because he has done nothing in 3 years other than continue Bush policies. Sarah is not the answer either, but there are no good choices right now. At least she could be something different, but she probably won't get the nomination anyway. I am off the Democratic party after they failed to support Hillary in 2008, but I am still registered with them so I can vote in future primaries.

The solution is to stop spending trillions on the military and corporate bailouts, take a hard line on illegal immigration to reduce unemployment and raise wages, and make outsourcing to other countries cost-prohibitive for corporations. Once there are more decent jobs in the US, this would improve the situation for everyone. Then the government should also reduce all of these welfare programs like food stamps that cost tens of billions - citizens and legal residents can either do the jobs that are available or fend for themselves.

The politicians are too tied up with corporations, who take advantage of cheap illegal immigrant and outsourced labor. Therefore none of these things will ever change.

If outsourcing and illegal immigration were reduced, there would be more jobs available for these people. The ones left could either do illegal immigrant style manual labor (picking fields, cleaning toilets, etc.) or they will have to get by with nothing. The food stamps cause laziness and an attitude of entitlement, and the food stamp program would be even more detrimental in the event more jobs were available in the US. Would someone rather work in the fields all day to earn a basic living, or sit at home and collect the same amount in food stamps and other handouts? That choice should not be available the way it is today - there is no need for taxpayers to have to subsidize laziness.
