Are Rio/Skybook part (silent) owners of Rx?

After reading this on an earlier thread on this site, I decided to post the question at Rx. I wasnt positive but pretty sure it would be RR material. Nope, deleted with no response.

I am not trying to start something here or there. If it is true, I think it should be public knowledge.

rio shill runs great contests and they are very generous with their giveaways. that is all that matters.

If they are partners, then I would assume they get a percentage of revenue from advertising. Under this assumption,they are not sponsoring contests to be "generous", they are sponsoring contests to keep internet traffic high.

I am grateful and enjoy all the contests but I dont think posters should be influenced by posters at Rx when they are commenting about Rio/Skybook in an unbiased fashion.

If its not a big deal, why do they not want people to know about it.

For what its worth, Skybook is one of my top 2 books for college basketball and I will be loading up with them shortly to get my free Turkey (Thanksgiving Promo)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

At the 2005 RX Bash, Skybook hats and mousepads were given away free.

No goodies from any other sportsbook were given out, although the random cash prizes may have been from sponsors.

Agree....I wear my Skybook hat pretty often.

And if they are owners, I dont want them to go anywhere bc I do enjoy their contests. Just take a look at their top advertiser (BOS), they dont provide anything useful to Rx. I think bc most Rx visitors have a high enough IQ to stay away from that place.

I do not think that this is much of a secret.

To their credit, they do not use the RX to trash the competition. In fact, they have competitors advertising on the site.

Further to their credit they have shied away from the "watchdog" role as their conflict of interest would really come back to hurt them.

Yes, it is important.

Yes, people should know.

Yes, they have (at least from this observer) not tried to take advantage.
