And once inserted into the starting line-up, reality sets in, and he is back to hitting .240.

Some guys are made to be back-ups.

Minshew is one of them.

So is Hurts.

The Eagles are going to have to look elsewhere for their long-term QB.

Not a big Mayfield fan, but in fairness he's been playing hurt all year, maybe the off week gets him a little healthier. Minshew a good backup, don't see him as a starter in the league

I wish the Broncos would go get him, especially if they draft a QB in the 1st round. The Broncos have a future stud at RB a quality offensive line and 3 good wideouts. Not to mention a terrific defense. All they are missing is a QB and a OC.

I know Minshew put up good numbers, but you have to put in context who he was playing against. Here's how horrible the Jets' pass D is:

108.8 QB rating against- dead last
4 interceptions- dead last
70.5% completion pct- 2nd worst
263 pass yards/game: 4th worst

I can see Minshew bouncing around 5-6 teams as a career backup. Actually a team that may want to take a chance in him next year is Pittsburgh.

If I'm Pittsburgh, the first thing I do when the season ends is place a call to Aaron Rodgers agent, the second thing I do is place a call to Russell Wilson's agent, the third thing I do is draft a QB. The Steelers franchise is all about competing for championships, I don't see how Minshew helps in that area

Don't get me wrong, I like the guy as a backup, but if he's your starting QB, the QB position isn't a strength of your team

I didn't say that Pittsburgh would replace Big Ben with Minshew. I just think he deserves to be a starter elsewhere, and with Hurts still not developed fully and with Roethlisberger on his way out, it would be sensible for Minshew to be an ideal fit there given the limits on starters who would be available
