Re: EOG March Madness 2012...Vegas of course

Wow, CC, I wish I was looking at a similar deal. South Point has 90 dollar rooms for the weekend in question, and I'm sure the Hilton would be expensive for March Madness. Maybe I should check Hooters, they are just off the strip and was pretty cheap last time out there.

top 10 moments of my life that i felt like a jackass

signing up for the hilton contest and trying to get a room comped. girl behind the counter says i need a players card, sends me down to the sportsbook, i start feeling jerked off, it's almost midnight and i have no intentions of using the room for anything other than "home base" for a shower and change of clothes.

no luck getting the room comped, i go back to the same girl and she hands me the bill, it was $50'ish (might have been a dollar or two more) for two nights....i apologized to her big time, never would have asked for the comp if i knew it was that cheap. maybe she hooked me up, not sure but i can tell you one thing, that bed never even got sat on during that trip.

could have been a real jerk or nice, i chose nice

they put us in a penthouse suite at no additional charge

now everytime i visit vegas the old lady thinks i'm staying in a room comparable to that one :shoot:

Split a 2 bedroom King Suite at PH with a buddy. They've got about 30 penthouses that you can't book in advance, but can upgrade to on arrival, and for an extra 150/night I'm hoping they'll have some available.

I haven't stayed there since it was The Aladdin, but I've played there since the PH switch and I like the atmosphere. Obviously Venetian/Palazzo ideal b/c of the stadium, it just didn't work out. I looked at Skyloft at MGM but they were booked. A little pricey but they looked like the shit.

Before I catch a bunch of "Big Baller" cracks let me just say I have a 6 month old and never get to leave the fucking house. So when I go on vacation I don't mind spending some extra money to do it the right way.

The suites at PH are 'ok' They aren't as glitzy and 'baller' as a lot of the other places in Vegas.

I got a friend a suite there one weekend when most of vegas was sold out as they are a starwood property and I was able to use points to get a room. It was a 1br suite and like I said, it was decently nice, but nothing crazy.

It's a 'fun' place with lots of younger people kinda like the palms.

All and all, I think you'll like it.

:cheers

PH is where the hookers go. You can't walk the floor of the casino at night without getting accosted by a couple. Casino security doesn't seem to care.

PVC, you're not bringing your 6-month old to Vegas with you? You know, leave it in a drawer like in The Hangover and throw a wicked party?

I have gone there many times because of the Starwood points as well, but I believe that has changed and they are no longer affiliated with Starwood.

I like PH as we have always been treated extremely well and by no means are we high rollers. Last year we went a day early (Wed) and bet horses all day. We must have had a stack of losing tickets 4 inches high. The book manager came over and asked if we planned on betting horses along with basketball the rest of the weekend. We told him yes and he set us up with reserved seats in the book for the weekend and more drink tickets than we could ever use. Not to mention the sandwich place across from the book is not a bad place to grab a quick bite.

I give PVC credit for being able to get away with a little one at home. I have 8 month old twins and there is no way I can get to Vegas for this NCAA Tournament.

I'm sending the wife to a spa weekend at Lake of the Ozarks Four Seasons this weekend. Everyone has their price....:lock:

which casinos offer free beer with bets in sportsbooks without being a highroller. also are any of the downtown casino books worthwhile to watch games

As far as March Madness (or anything else here)..

Everything is free in Las Vegas, you just can't afford it.

I was thoroughly underwhelmed by the pictures of the 1 BR "suites." The 2 BR suites on the 50+ floor better be all they make them out to be or I'm going to be pissed off.

Re: EOG March Madness 2012...Vegas of course

I enjoyed our stay at the Flamingo when I was there in October. Got in Friday morning about 9am and left Monday morning about 11am and spent maybe 8 hours in the room total. It was just a place to catch a 2-3 hour nap each night and take a shower. The reason I liked it is we were right in the middle of the strip and could basically go anywhere we pleased. Since we ended up at the Mirage most of the time it worked out pretty well.

I wish.

Her father is sick and will have to be quitting his job any day now so the wedding is on me. I'm not gonna let him lose his house just so our friends and family can eat a nice meal and get drunk.

On a semi-related note, if anybody has any lock superfectas or 8-team parlays they know of coming up sometime in the next week or so I'd really appreciate a PM.

She'll be 8 months then and of course not. I'm going to put her in her crib and pay Consuela a twenty spot to look in on her every two hours like clockwork.
