Re: Fraud on Poker Sites-PokerStars, Full Tilt and Absolute Poker
If you have money in any one of the three sites, leave it in there. First, if you try and take it out, you may, or may not be successful. Next, if you DO get your money, the Feds and IRS get all of your information. That is not good. What happened was that these companies set up phony businesses "fronts" in the U.S. to do their financial transactions. They have been caught. You are talking about billions of dollars involved here. If one of your transactions went through one of these phony companies, you could be in trouble. There are already rumors in D.C. about a deal for these companies. They would pay big money in fines, and would give the Feds a list of their U.S. players. That means that if you were a big winnner, and failed to pay taxes on your winnings, you would have a major problem. The smart move here is to do nothing now, and see how this plays out. You can expect more of this soon. It is possible that just before the football season starts, the Feds do the same thing to several sports books. I would take as much money out of my sportsbooks account as I could now, in the "down" season. You may want to wait until the playoffs in hockey and hoops are finished, if you like to wager on those sports. But keep as little as possible in your accounts until we see what happens in the near future.
