The old one pump trick ! They will be back in a few days. Trap and relocate 30+ miles away , preferably to a no kill place is my choice, remove any collars and external ID tags.
If it was my indoor-outdoor cat, I'd be hard pressed to look for it 30 miles in every direction, huge area to cover. You might look in your town, and beyond that consider it roadkill or coyote victim.
Outdoor cats live 5 years average, a housecat can go 20 years. If I were a cat, I'd want my freedom.

A little anti-freeze will take care of any cat or try .22 shot shells.. not much noise and plenty of fire power to do the trick.
