Thanks for posting these. I know it has taken some effort but it has been a fun follow. Any chance you might give us at least a little teaser on the hows and whys after it is all over?

Wow, let's hope they keep the lids on the hoops today! Dumb question, Travis, but is the 3rd * next to the Memphis under supposed to designate an even stronger play than the 2*'s. Sorry to be nit-picky, but you are pretty precise. Thanks.12io4j2w90

Are we done for the day, Travis? Heading out for a hockey game in 1/2 hour, and was just wondering. Thanks for all the work no matter the final tally. :cheers

Re: NCAA Hoops Totals thread (Feb 2nd-28th)

Wednesdays results:

Daily Actual = 4-12-1 (-9.2 UNITS)

Daily vs closers = 7-4-6

MTD Actual = 113-114-4 (-12.4 UNITS / 49.8%)

MTD VS Closers = 135-30-66

Accountability can be an uncomfortable thing. :shoot:

Saturdays results and a final tally coming next.

Saturdays results:

Daily Actual = 14-16 (-3.6 UNITS)

Daily vs closers = 18-6-6

MTD Actual = 127-130-4 (-16.0 UNITS / 49.4%)

MTD VS Closers = 153-36-72 :hangt

Ironic how an exercise in "beating closers = winning" turns into a virtual bloodbath. At 1500 a throw it doesnt take long to figure out that I lose a Honda Accord in the month of February.

Here are the final results of 261 samples over a 4 week period. We beat the closer at a 4-1 ratio and lose 16 units. Pretty tough to do. I have learned though, over time, that 261 games is really a short span and not to get too worked up over losing. I will say ones confidence level sure can take a hit when the game plan isnt working though.

Good luck the rest of the hoops season, I hope it treats you better than I did. 2348ji23e

P.S. Although unsuccessful, thank you to the posters of EOG for letting this thread play out without any nonsense or bashing. It was as pleasurable as it could be losing like I did. 12io4j2w90

Thanks for the effort, Trav. Sometimes these systems don't go as you hoped, but I still think the theory is pretty solid over the long-haul.

That figure right there is amazing. If someone would have told you a month ago that you would beat the close over 58% of the time, I would have bet several Hondas that you would have been way up at the end. I appreciate the effort you put into this. No reason to post these other than to help lead people in the right direction.

Thank you.

Thanks for the thread Travis. While it may not have gone as you hoped, it was still fun to discuss a few different things in here. It was also honorable to not pack it in and let this thread die when things were going poorly. You said you were going to see it through until the end and that's what you did :cheers

No need to bash someone who was working their ass off and just hitting a rough spot. It'll turn around for you, I'm sure. GL during the tournament. :cheers

out of curiousity, do you have the record of just the 153 times where you beat the close?

Wow. These certainly were NOT the results that I expected to come of this.

I thoroughly enjoyed watching this whole thing play out and you did great in predicting the line moves.

Aberrations like this can be tough to stomach sometimes, though.

Thanks for the work, OSU and GL with the rest of the CBB season.

Re: NCAA Hoops Totals thread (Feb 2nd-28th)

261 plays means nothing.

OSU killed the closer in 80% of the games

if he does this over 1000-2000 plays he will win.
