A unit is a unit. What difference does it make?

You can set a minimum if you want but it is going to take a shitload of them to get to the number obviously unless I get lucky on a big longshot future or something.

He will not accept. No way in Hell. This was a challenge he made that was never meant to be taken up on, hence the 10k minimum. He will come up with some reason why he can't or won't.

You have to think about limits as well. He says that he makes a good portion of his money on obscur sports and American Idol type bets, which as we all know have very small limits. So when he says he put down 5 units on an American Idol bet we know he is full of shit.

Hence the unit amount needed. It wouldnt be reasonable for him to be able to make 5 unit play on something they have a $50 or $100 max on.

$200 units seem very reasonable. There is NO WAY this guy is making a living betting anything less than $200 per play. (If the house limit is 1K on American Idol then so be it)

He said he is a winning gambler and that the last year he made 50K. (that was a "bad year" mind you) He cant come back here and say his units are $50 or something stupid like that. (His claim then would equate to him winning 1000 units in a bad year)

This is about him winning real money. Here is his chance to show me.

getting closer, but same roadblocks that made you back out last time rearing their ugly heads again. 200 far too high for a unit and wont limit myself to that set of books, some of which i don't even use.

as for verification, you won't be in any of my accounts but will be emailed the plays before they start obviously. You don't believe a play was legit, a third party agreed on beforehand can verify them when need arises.

hadn't really thought about it much, but my wagers vary in amount greatly. was thinking i would play the mirror wagers as 10-50 buck plays in my accounts for the contest purposes and then obviosly just play it again for the rest of whatever I go for real. That is what I was thinking originally to keep it simple.

It isn't a challenge to win x amount of dollars it is x amount of units. Depending on how big the wager by the challenger is, affects the true dollar amounts I may play on things. There are a lot of factors to be considered in ironing out the contract. Can a play be played at two different books, which I assume you would say no, stuff like that. In reality I would play far more than 5 units on some plays, but am limiting myself to that, so in return the unit amount we work with should be pretty low.

It is YOUR challenge not mine, I understand that. I guess what you are saying then is that your challenge would prove to me that you can win $2000 in 12 calendar months.

As you have outlined your contest you are counting 5 unit American Idol plays for the same value as a 5 unit Sunday NFL play. When, in the real world, there would be no way you could get down the same amount of money on both of those plays. The best example would be the Softball play you gave out here at EOG. V-Tech +2.5 runs. Pinnacle had a $50 (yes $50, that is not a typo) max on the game. The way your challenge is outlined that play, as a 5 unit play, would have 5 times more value than a CBB or CFB 1 unit play. Do you really only bet $10 per game?

Well for instance I was able to get 625 down on that softball game. I don't make huge wagers that often. I just nickel and dime towards profits. I do it in such a way that good value 250 dollar bets arent lost in the shuffle and irrelevant to the bottom line.

That being said, I do understand your point and not sure what to do about it. However, you are wrong in a sense. I do bet things like Idol as strong as I do an NFL game. I don't really think the units could be more than 50. That makes 250 limits available for 5 unit plays.

The other thing is just because a play is on the obscure side, doesn't mean they are easy winners. The books do have a clue and have gotten smarter and offer less now that they don't make as much. Big juice on these as well. And I have to get to 200 units. Not an easy feat, and I don't think many could do it. (and if I go like I am this year I won't either) Only won 48k or so last year(aside from a little bonus money and fantasy football) and this year only up 12400 so far more than halfway in and best sport done.
