Trump could implode by 2024. Or the GOP could decide to basically make sure he doesn't win like the Dems regularly do. As much as people have been deluded to think Trump is their best hope, he lost and remains very unpopular with the voting public. There's a reason why few losing candidates get another run. If he wants to run as independent, go for it.
I think Haley makes sense. Cheney was trying to get in front of the post Trump GOP but seems like she's just too unpopular now to get there. I think the GOP machinery, ex the Trump people, would definitely push for a woman because it would improve their chances in many matchups.

The voting rules are just going to piss people off and get more voters out to spite the GOP. Demographics are not in the favor of the GOP, Georgia is only going to get worse since all the growth is in the Atlanta area which is going blue. I can see it going like Colorado and Nevada, the dominant big city metro draws in left voting transplants who overwhelm the right voting rural and exurb areas. Both states who often were red or purple in the past are no doubt about it blue now. Arizona and Georgia are still purple but trending blue statewide. Trying to rig the voting can only do so much.
Only way GOP wins next Presidency is if we get an economic meltdown running into the election. They can control Congress with gerrymandering, but even with the electoral college advantage they can't flip many states short of a wholesale mess similar to the pandemic or the financial crisis turning voters the other way.

I have no delusions about Trump. He's unpopular, the polls showed it and he lost by 7 million votes. If not for built-in advantages of the electoral college we'd call him a very big loser. Even if he flipped Georgia and Wisconsin, the two closest states, he still would have lost. He needed to flip a lot of states with his fraud nonsense and it didn't work. In other words, he LOST.
The GOP leaders aren't dummies, what will have changed between now and 2024 that would flip voters around in a number of states? They are realistic and understand the situation without the emotional filter. Better to go get different candidates who are more liked and have different views to increase their chances of winning.
This is a betting strategy forum is it not? Rationally tell me how a guy who lost by that much last time around can change the results in 2024 absent an economic crisis? I don't care what you think of Trump or Biden or Kamala or whoever, just tell me strategically how the result is different if you run it back with the same guy who lost?

I heard Noah’s ark pulled up along side one polling station and animals got out and walked up side by side and voted. All had phoney Voter cards that look identical to the real ones.
At another polling station 10 busses pulled up after the polls closed from a local funeral home and dead people were let in a side door and all were allowed to vote twice. It’s all on tape. I swear! I saw it at a Qanon meeting here in Detroit.

Oh, he's running. Bannon came out yesterday and clarified that. He's just not smart enough to understand he'll lose by much more than he lost last time out. He'll get crushed. The only way Republicans can win is by cheating. They simply do not have the numbers any more to win fair and square. So this craziness will continue till 2024 and he makes more claims he was cheated. So another 3.5 years of this country not healing. Just picking away at the scab. Maybe someone with a brain in that party will get through to the people in charge of the nominee it's best we offer someone more diverse and will still have our values but not alienate every single Democrat alive today. That's the best chance they have of winning again without the blatant cheating.
I was not a huge fan of Joe, but he was the only one who could have beaten Trump and they were right as he did. He's the only one that Trump talked about and feared. But Joe to my surprise is getting it done incredibly well under these circumstances. Jobs, Covid, approval ratings....he's just quietly getting the country back on track. Without all the racism and ignoring 6/10ths of the population. With class, dignity, and most of all respect. He's leading this nation the way it should be led. Not do as I say not as I do leadership. The rest of the world respects us again. The one's that matter anyways. I think he's gonna be too old by the time 2024 rolls around, but that's not been cause for any sort of alarm to this point. Hell, as I've done in the past, I'd even vote Republican again if the right guy came along who could lead us all and not divide us as Trump did. This county's a mess because of Trump. We've come too far to go back to the blatant racism Trump offers. That ideology didn't work the last 4 years and won't work going forward. We got to learn to live together.
