Where’s the comeback?

It’s just the name though.

I have a very soft spot in my heart for the Stardust Sports Book, & the Stardust in general.

Back in the day, sportsbooks & casinos were legally segregated. You could be a casino, you could be a sports book (e.g., Little Caesars), but not both. That law changed in the mid 80’s, and the Stardust opened the biggest & best sports book of its era.

The Stardust played an integral role in my early AP days.
I’m still angry at Boyd for unnecessarily demolishing it.

i am guessing Rail is referring to the Resorts World Las Vegas which is due to open this summer on the old Stardust property. A four billion dollar project. i don't know if they are going to have a sports book or not.

Crazy Pete is probably right with what he posted above.

i loved the spiral staircases in the rooms by the swimming pool, and walking across the street to play graveyard basketball at the sporting house.

remember as a 17 and 18 yr old kid we all piled into a station waghon , picking up Lee Pete on the radio around Barstow and making the drive shorter, coming over the hill near Primm and seeing the Whiskey Pete prospector sign we all got giddy. We would play 2 dollar blackjack with our fake ids.
