I understand your point and I did contact many of the respective owners...
As you can see, some were delighted to participate, whereas a few didn't want to...
We didn't want management to disqualify posters so we went with this current format...
I don't know if this is the best way or not...
But i do know that we have at least one team involved that would not have been allowed to play had it been up to management at their site...
I just didn't want posters to be punished due to egos, agendas, etc..

fwiw, I bet my forum is one of the bigger ones....
when you do an inter-forum challenge, then you obviously will have a bunch of "strangers"....and I don't think there was a limitation on the site.
next time, it might be better if Shrink did invitations and we called it the "EOG Forum Capping Invitational".....then he contacts the head mods at the respective sites, and each site have some kind of vote/contest to determine their 5 cappers....would probably be much more organized.
