Evidence provided by a former AT&T technician proves that the telecommunications company secretly and unlawfully opened its networks to government eavesdroppers, the Electronic Frontier Foundation said Thursday.

EFF sued AT&T in January, alleging it illegally cooperated with the National Security Agency's secret eavesdropping program. Then, in an odd twist last week, the Bush administration objected to EFF including some internal AT&T documents in court (the Feds claimed they might be classified).

This particular news article making the rounds on the Internet about AT&T and the NSA shows how really "in the dark" most people are about government monitoring.

It reminds me of that scene in Dumb and Dumber when Jim Carrey is absolutely shocked by the framed headline that says "Man Lands on the Moon". It's funny when people suddenly become alarmed by really, really, reallly REALLLLLY old news.
