Just heard the podcast. Absolutely agree with Iona as a fade in the touney. Mentioned that earlier this month in my MAAC rankings. Although my opinion is right now that Fairfield is peaking at the right time, and may be a team that goes a couple of rounds is they get the right matchup. Good analysis Micah.

Ask Pat how relevant is past class to him......is a moderate drop a red flag

How accurate can power ratings be for such a short sample size for three year old horses?

I've learned how to take a loss over the years, but I still have a hard time exiting the track a loser. I feel so humbled, defeated and wildly disappointed -- not to mention furious at myself for going in the first place. It's like going to Burger King then getting mad at myself for the inevitable bout of the buckets a short time later.

Love going to the track...I get more of a rush there than any other sporting event in the world, unless it involves a team from Philly....still waiting to attend the Masters, which would be the greatest feeling of all time...a day or night at the races is a high for me...

You almost knew that Patrick would have no clue how to answer this question. His answer is basically "I make good numbers and I have confidence in them". He then launches on an irrelevant mistake that the Beyer folks made. LOL

Of course the follow up question is "What is the mean difference and variance in your predictions vs actual results?". I would guess that Patrick would have no estimate of the magnitude of his actual errors in power ratings.

NNOOOOOOo home team has the option and most choose to shoot first.....which is wrong since the miss is favorite and actually takes the pressure off the road team...only three innings,then one each until a winner is determined
