Boston declined, the teams discussed a straight Granderson-for-Ellsbury swap, nothing came to fruition and Granderson was placed in pinstripes.

just looked at the teams quickly and looks like by the time it gets to me round 1 i will get to choose between studs like adam lind and jair jurrjens :shoot:

maybe ttp is right. maybe we should just do 3 keepers after this year..f'in sucks looking at the first round and wondering if i should take mike pelfrey or ben zobrist

Its because we are able to keep 5 players regardless of what rd they were picked. Other leagues make you lose the rd that correlates to your keeper. Other leagues have salary caps and you can't just keep the best guys because the best guys probably cost a thirs of your cap space. But right now this is what we got. So we'll make the best of it.

I prefer this style of keeper league over those ones (ones where you keep players from rd they were drafted), I'm just starting to think we maybe keep one or two too many guys. Obviously no way we change that for this year, but I think we should think about making that change for next season. And if we do we have to decide before the season starts as owners will gameplan their teams around the keeper rules.

I say we reduce the # of keeps down to either 2 or 3 next year. One pitcher, one hitter with maybe a 'flex' keeper. 5 is just too many.
