</TD></TR><TR><TD class=vaLink>It's no surprise to see Morton right back in the majors, but it figured to happen because of a Mike Hampton injury. He'll start tonight after Jo-Jo Reyes was used in relief on Sunday and probably remain in the rotation until Tim Hudson gets back. He was 2-3 with a 6.00 ERA before being sent down.

</TD></TR><TR><TD class=vaLink>The Braves' desire for fresh arms will cost Reyes his rotation spot for at least 10 days. He had lost five straight starts, so he wasn't exactly making a strong case to stick around anyway. Still, the Braves will probably want him starting every five days in September.

</TD></TR><TR><TD class=vaLink>All indications were that Hudson was going to start Tuesday, and maybe he would have if the Braves were still in the race. Putting him on the disabled list might be an admssion by the team that the Braves are out of it.

</TD></TR><TR><TD class=bodyCopy>Braves placed third baseman Chipper Jones on the 15-day disabled list a strained left hamstring.</TD></TR><TR><TD>
</TD></TR><TR><TD class=vaLink>Tim Hudson is joining him. By placing both on the disabled list, the Braves could be waving the white flag on their season, making a Mark Teixeira trade more likely. Omar Infante and Martin Prado will fill in at third base for the next couple of weeks.
