Personally, I like big money at the top, kicking myself for missing it by three picks last year. It's not like you get that close year-in, year-out.
WSOP never has capped the top end, and this for me is the WSOP for sports bettors.
But I do concur about not having those ridiculously small payouts at the bottom end. If they wanted to pull money from that end to fatten payouts higher up in the mid range that wouldn't bother me. Pull it back to 50 spots. There's no immutable universal law that you have to cash (in a piddling amount) just because you hit around 60%, which is often the argument that I hear for expanding the number of places.
