College football 2023

Ohio St goes up 16-14 w one second left. Why not take a knee on extra point instead of risking a block and return which would be 2 points the other way?

The only reason and its a stretch that I can think of is because there is a kickoff which is possible no time can run off (which happened) and opposing offense can get at least one play and then a flag on PI would allow a FG attempt

This is 100% correct. Your offense goes out and gets into the victory formation and takes a knee.

Then Ohio st phucks up on the kickoff by kicking it out of bounds

Ryan day gets away with 2 brain dead plays that nobody will notice

After Caleb puts 40+ plus on Colorado next week, they will be out of the top 25 and the hype train will be over.

The XP attempt is a untimed play, OSU had to kick off no matter what.

Right so if you squib kick only chance to lose is a miracle TD. Makes no difference if up by 2 or 3. ND best chance was to tie on blocked extra point

Day not a good coach

Notre Dame had 10 men on defense last play. Coach said he didn’t want to call a time out and get a penalty ( In this case, it would have been half a yard, since ball was on the 1)

Yes this is true. But by kneeling you eliminate a play that could tie the game with a blocked xpt run back for 2.

Also a mistake on the kickoff. My thought is try to squib kick it and hit one of the up man. Even just onside

All the athletes are in the back 6. All the big guys that don't carry the ball are up front

Not calling a time out is a "wtf" moment

Freeman is an idiot if he has a reason to not call a time out and win the game with 10.

My guess is he didn't know they had 10 at the moment, was told after, and had to come up with an excuse.

If he says "we only had 10???"

That's not a good look

As for the kickoff, Sportsrmylife addressed it. Don't kick the ball out of bounds.

Indiana Hoosiers as a common denominator:

Ohio State had 380 yards against them in week 1
Akron had 474 yards against them in week 4

They used the last timeout, then came out with 10 on the final two plays.

All I hear is Ohio U is gonna roll NIU. Everyone loves Ohio this week. Yet the number has gone from minus 7 to minus 5.5 on Ohio. This game figures to be impacted as much by weather as any; with winds expected around 25 mph. We know Ohio wants to throw with Rourke; NIU can throw with Lombardi, but would rather run. Ralph Michaels quotes a 1-7 ATS run for NIU at home going back to last year. What he failed to mention was NIU was playing with a 4th string and 3rd string QB for the last half of 2022.

NIU wins outright.
