NHL 2021 Season

What happened in that game Winky? I got extended at work 3 days in a row so was disconnected with everything for a bit.
Kings down 3-0, tie it with about 2 minutes left. Dying seconds of OT. 4-on-4 since Kings had to kill a penalty. Puck goes into the corner of the Kings defensive end. ALL FOUR GUYS converge on the puck. Wild guy flips it to the middle of the ice about 30 feet from the net to a wiiiiiiiiiiiiiide open teammate who puts it home. With 0.3 left in OT. Seriously

uugghh rough ending that blows, GL on your monthly challenge Winky. I was fortunate to take the right period Under last night before the floodgates opened

2 team Mline Parlay in NHL at pinny

6 Montreal -242 with 8 Columbus -178 = +120

or another way could be played individually 60 min Reg Line, I'll include all 3 as plays

Montreal -0.5 -158
Columbus -0.5 -117

Better way to play it IMO is Montreal under 6.5. When they get into shootouts they lose, but if they get back to the low scoring game I think they have a better chance to prevail. Last game out was definitely more promising.

Took a little on Ottawa, think the line is ridiculous for a very pedestrian Flames team. I want to bet against the Toronto machine but I'm waiting for them to lose a game first. This is a very good spot for Vancouver, but don't want to get run over by the train coming right now.

things seemed clear the other night, not much sticking out tonight? Anyone like anything with a big slate?
TB-Chicago is interesting as they are playing three in 4 days in Chicago. Chicago with a tough loss, were up 2-0 late in the 2P, now has to rebound tonight.

Nice call on Van beating Toronto WBill

Impressive to see Blackhawks FW hold the lead against TB for awhile since many kept saying how bad Chicago was going to be this year.

Going back to the Kings tonight, took em both times last week in St Louis and fortunately they got there both times. This time they are at home and I ll bite and take the 60 min regulation line +0.5 -140 as a play but there's other ways you can play this one.

Add in winning goal a second before shootout. Still though that game felt like Tampa didn't really put out a great effort and still got their 2 points. Hawks probably would be happy getting 3 points out of 3 games so just need a winner out of the last two.

I played TB +520 live when they were down 2-0 in the 2nd P, really got a nice price.

I just can't trust them and my Avatar shows my thoughts on them

Saturday: Gimme the Leaves on the PL +137

Canuck caught them at the perfect time and situation. Leaves now have 48 hours rest between games and are not flying in. The teams played 3 games earlier in Tor and Leaves won all 3. One by 2 and 2 by 4 goals. Think we get something like a 4-1ish Leaves win

I don't know if this is the game to back the Ducks, but talk about not getting the breaks. Ducks on an 8 game losing streak, but are 6-2 on the +1.5 line in that stretch. Now they did get a meaningless goal last game to get within 1, but this is a team to wait on for a strong stretch. Maybe they need one last pounding loss before they go on a run but someone I'd watch for.

Same with Vancouver as I mentioned, I think the public believes they are a bad team and so far they have played poorly, but sure seems like the talent is finally coming around a bit. I'll be on them next game as Toronto is due for some down regression, if for no other reason they have so much cushion right now they might have some head scratching efforts going forward.

Last 2 games Ducks made it a 1 goal game with 3P goals at 19:00 and 19:59. OUCH

I can't take my hard-earned post-tax money and bet it on them. I just can't. They are pitiful and unlike the Kings - do not have a bright future. I'd rather donate money to a worth charity than a sportsbook in the name of a bet on this team.

Come on Wink, this is the NHL. Every shitty team has a good run and every great team shits the bed for a bit. Getting into the right cycles is where the money is to be made.

A lot of money to be found with try-hard dogs. Detroit has some of that in them also.
If you watch the games you'll notice no team is really many levels above another. The worst teams still get chances and make good plays. The final results are in many respects lucky where bounces go one way or another. Its amazing how many games are decided by the puck bouncing off someone and into the net. Now the better teams get more of the opportunities so if luck balances out then they win, but lots of money to be made just betting teams that are getting caught up on their luck and against teams that are seeing the bounces go the other way.

If you want to see dominance on the ice watch some KHL games, now those you'll say team A should almost never lose to team B. But on rare occasions they do.

WIth the schedule like it is (similar to baseball series), Anaheim and Detroit will face a backup goalie in its series. Right there is an opportunity.

Right - but the problem with the Ducks is: With the exception of Gibson and a few skaters - that whole team is made up of guys who would be backups on other teams. The Ducks problem is they cannot score goals. And when they do they seem to give up 1-2 more than they score. They never play for a full 60 minutes. They always have that period where they "fall asleep" and that costs them the game. They are just good enough to keep it close. Bridesmaids - never Brides. Wings give a better effort and with Stevie Y there they will turn it around. It might take 3+ more years but he will get them back to competitiveness.

If the Leaves don't win the Cup this year knowing they get a Free Pass to the Semis - something they will not get in future years - they might not win the Cup for some time. They will never be given a better chance than this season. Their division is: Leaves and the 6 Dwarfs!

Great call. For what is far too many times to count they give up the tying goal late in 3P then lose in OT. As I said - I simply cannot back this team with anything but Monopoly money

Understood Winky, the 3 games the Kings have covered in regulation recently for me is more a play against the Blues than on the Kings. The Blues have had significant talent and depth taken away because of injury and their goaltending has been less than stellar this year. Some of that will change starting tonight as they get Tarasenko back and others to follow in the coming days. We get Quick and Binnington it appears in a back to back and I did not see a lot of decent scoring chances last night especially on the Blues side with a low shot total. For those reasons I'm shifting to the Under tonight. All plays as previously noted are for one unit unless noted otherwise. I usually post the stronger plays but posted everything today.

Tor-Van Under 6.5 -120 b365 0.5 unit
Minn -140 b365 1 unit
Minn - Ariz Under 5.5 -130 b365 0.25 unit
Ariz Team Total Under 2.5 -114 pinny 0.25 unit
STL-LA Kings Under 6 -157 pinny 2 units
Calg-Edm Under 6.5 -123 bookmaker 0.5 unit
Calg-Edm Under 2 -146 1st period pinny 0.5 unit
Vegas 60 min Reg line -0.5 -130 1 unit
Vegas OT included -1 -141 1 unit

I heard that Vegas got booted out of the hotel they were staying at last night, the place went belly-up.

Ya FW, they were joking cause Tuch and Reaves were pissed they had to pack all their video game equipment to move hotels. Maybe they will keep moving around if they keep shutting out teams on the road.

Wish I could have thrown out the Minny-Ariz game, the night would have been a whole lot better. Oh well we move on to today.

Wash-Phil Over 6 -116 pinny
Nash TT Under 2.5 -124 pinny

Even at Minny 2-0 in the 1st period yesterday, Coyotes were the better team in my opinion that's why I decided to buy back some on the ingame on Coyotes. My fault not to pick up it was Minny's 6 game in 9 nights and it appeared to affect them as the game went on and losing 5-2. Not saying teams will lose today because they are in the same spot however there are a few teams playing 6 in 9 days today and don't make the same mistake I made last night not picking up on it and considering it when handicapping a game.

I went 1-1 backing Arizona because I think the line is out of whack between the two teams. They are quite even in my view, but Arizona's problem is they use Raanta on occasion and he's been absolute crap in some of his outings. No way the Wild should be -150ish favorites on the road in a building with some fans and atmosphere. Granted a lot of those fans are Wild fans, but still the pricing on the Wild doesn't make sense to me. They take care of business against bad teams, but they are far from the territory of getting premium-priced against decent or good teams.

Hawks have played Lightning absolutely even in first two games, on those merits alone I think backing them at the high price is a good value play. Tampa is in cruise mode while Hawks are battling with it being clear they can get back to the playoffs again. I said they would be thrilled to get 3 out of 6 points from this set, but now that they have that in their pocket let's see if they can get 5 out of it.

Ralph Krueger’s time is about up. Gone after today possibly.
Seems like a good guy but Sabres are just awful.
They might as well have the owner's kid coach the team, there is nothing that seems to be done with them. When they put out a good effort they still seem to get unlucky and find ways to lose and then it leads to listless efforts like they have had recently. With no sure fire #1 picks this year its not like they would benefit from tanking and getting a better shot at the top pick.

In line with what I posted before its time to ride the Ducks, got in two nice +1.5 wins over the weekend, now going to back them on money line for a couple of games.

Also backing the Canucks for one more game at the big price. If they win then I'll lay off, but if they lose I'll play them next game to split the series.

Lastly will back the Coyotes tonight against the very banged up Avs. Just waiting to make sure its Kuemper in net as I want nothing to do with inconsistent Raanta.

Another angle I like is bet Coyotes 2nd period. Coyotes have been dominant in 2P this season and get an added in favor factor tonight. Avs D-corps is decimated with injuries right now and I'm guessing if they have some issues here with all the unfamiliar pairings its dealing with the long change in the 2P. If this game goes as typical for the Coyotes they fall behind early, storm back in the second and then find a way to lose it in the third.
