Toledo noterdame under 2nd half was brutal for me. under 73.5, went ot in the 50s, then 5 pts in final second including a 65 foot heave at buzzer that was after buzzer but refs had zero interest in reviewing it. hard to beat this for bad beat

I didn't have this one, but NDU strip sack and fumble recovery in the end zone for a TD with 40 secs to play to get the cover against Stanford

Ironic that the season started for Stanford by covering vs Northwestern in the last :20 the same way (i had NU).

Saturday I had Tottenham -1.5+120. They lead 3-0 but give up a goal in the 79thish minute. No biggie - still up 3-1 and that is good enough. Until in the 96th (out of 96) minute they give up another goal to win 3-2 but not cover -1.5

Prop shopping this morning when things are coming out. I see I can get Elliot o82.5 yards rushing -110. Everywhere was 82.5 and even a tad expensive. Pick it up. end of day 5 dimes at 184-5. My local all the way up to 185.5. So I get good # and line. I glance at game when Dallas at 2 and I'm sitting on 81. T.D. I think I have a winner. Time left for him to get more I thought.

Wait.

1st & 10 at DAL 7
(11:21 - 4th) (Shotgun) E.Elliott right end to DAL 5 for -2 yards (K.Pierre-Louis).

Down 17 and they ran about 6 more plays this drive. Had ball two more times but why run down 17. Never another run in 15-20 plays. They just had to give him the ball that one last time and many were cheering for it I'm sure but not me.

Finish 81 Yards.

I know they had time so not a horrible beat but to lose it on last run. STILL SUCKS!

I HAD THIS TOO

when I put game on he was at 83 and was early 4th qtr , I actually remember kind of laughing in my head thinking would be nice to get few more in case caught behind line. Few mins later I see the play he gets swarmed for a loss. Watch a few more mins and turned if off disgusted. He prob didnt even get another carry, not sure.

The other day I had Memphis -2 1/2 first half vs Miss St in NIT final. Memphis jumps out to a 13-0 lead, is easily covering virtually entire 1st half. Then they go ice cold. Still up 4 with 30 seconds left, Miss St gets within 2 and final possession goes to Memphis, who promptly turn it over, leading to a MSU layup leaving game tied at half. Second half? Tigers run MSU out, winning by 14.

Yesterday had the Magic UNDER 102 TT. After scoring 37 first half points, they score 66 second half points and that's not the worst about it. Orlando goes up 5 with 2 seconds left in the game and with their inbounds pass (I think), Reggie Jackson launches it out of bounds so no time goes off clock. Orlando inbounds it (UP 5 with 2 seconds left) and Leonard fouls Terrance Ross with 1 second left for free throws 102 and 103. Owie....

Grizzlies for the game

Reaves fouled with 0.3 left in a 4 point game - with a 4.5 spread.

As he went to the line legendary Lakers TV analyst Stu Lantz said Reaves FT were "meaningless"

NO STU - NO THEY WERE NOT!

I get it that he is clueless when it comes to the spread but this is an asinine comment to make because MILLIONS changed hands on those "meaningless" FTs

What he should've said was, "I'm sure a lot of people are interested in the fate of these free throws, as most in a specific playground are anxiously watching".

Brent, Enberg,Marv, and scores of other sportscasters always dropped hints that I loved to hear their version of point spread impact.

Funny as in the states that have legalized gambling are constantly showing live odds now. Had the Tiger game on last weekend and the announcers are commenting on the in-game odds for the sponsor book.

I can say with 100% certainty Stu Lantz is CLUELESS about the lines on the game. Lakers broadcasters are not supposed to mention anything about the spread which is why he said what he did.

It's an indirect statement. not to mention industry for obvious reasons Other sportscasters or broadcasters can get away with it, obviously affecting the side and total using their terms roundabout.
We've all heard it before, and given the moment the foul occured after kennard hit the 3, he absolutely had an idea of what the lines on the game were.

I am gonna disagree here. I truly believe he had no idea and has no idea about the spread for any NBA games - especially the Lakers

I just look at it as I feel he had to have had an idea as the line for most of the night was around 4.5. The total after that 3 by Kennard also hit the over in most shops around 223.5 and maybe done 224s.

How's this for a bad beat? This goes back to the late 90s. It was on races at Ellis Park. I was alive with 3 horses going into the last leg of a Pic 3. Two were paying over $1000 per $2 and the other was around $700. Things are looking good on the far turn....I had the leader and I had the 3rd horse who was about to pass the tiring pace presser. The other horse was getting a good trip and was starting to launch a late run.

Something happened between the 1/8th and 3/16 pole. I see the rider of the leader start to stand up in the irons, and shortly after, all the riders are pulling up their mounts. WTH? Shortly after the start of the race, a jockey was thrown from his mount and still was on the ground. This was a 2 turn turf race and the field was bearing down on the downed rider. Shortly after the race, the announcer said that the race was basically a non-event. Not only a cancellation of all wagers, but no purse money to be distributed as it was considered a non event. I collected a consolation double but it paled in comparison to the Pic 3 will pays.

That's a tough one, VALUIST.

DAYJUR In the Breeders' Cup Sprint was a tough loss for me.

Jumped a shadow in deep stretch at Belmont Park or he would have won the Breeders' Cup Sprint in 1990.

It was a dark day for racing when Mister Nickerson died from a heart attack while racing at the back of the pack in the Sprint and two races later, Go For Wand tragically snapped her right foreleg at the sixteenth pole of the Breeders' Cup Distaff.

Go For Wand later was buried at Saratoga Racecourse.

Like Ruffian, a super filly who snapped her right foreleg in a match race with Foolish Pleasure in 1975, Go For Wand died on the lead.

There was one silver lining to that tough beat. The horse that was leading when the race was halted was first time turf. Maybe 3 weeks later, that same horse ran again on grass. I knew he could handle grass but the race he just "won" was a non event and nothing was listed in the past performances. He wasn't a giant price by any means, maybe 7/2 but at least some consolation.

Maybe a worse beat happened to me in the 90s at Sportsman's Park. At the 1/8th pole, I had the tri. The leading horse was 10/1 and the field was gapped out well that nobody else was crashing the tri. Something spooked the leader; maybe a shadow. Suddenly he bolted to the left and went over the inner rail. We saw plenty of horses bolt at the old Sportsmans but usually due to the turns.

I had a real good 1990 Breeders Cup. Caught the exacta with Itsallgreektome underneath at 40/1 in one of the grass races, then caught the tri with Unbridled in the Classic as longshots ran 2nd and 3rd. I still can't believe a horse won the Breeders Cup Classic and KY Derby in the same year and wasn't Horse of the Year. East Coast bias gave it to Criminal Type.....which WAS criminal.

But I do remember Dayjur jumping that shadow. I believe the filly Safely Kept won.

Somewhat of a bad beat. 2 points in the final 3:54 in game 2 of Lakers/Warriors. Total was sitting on 225 and only pushed the 227 in garbage time. Some got lucky with 226.5.

GS scored a total of 84 points combined in quarters 2 and 3. Teams combined for 37 in the final stanza.
