The EOG Octagon is a head-to-head handicapping showdown featuring a winner-take-all purse of 2,500 bananas.

Each contestant provides 1,000 bananas to the prize pot with EOG supplying the added bananas.

The format is flexible.

This month, the participants have agreed to 40 plays over 31 days with the handicapper earning the most units being declared the winner.

All plays must land in the range of -200 to +200.

Contestants are allowed only one wager per event.

Contestants will post selections using prices and pointspreads from the following establishments: CRIS, Pinnacle, BetDSI, Westgate and William Hill.

Once a contestant posts a selection, neither the contestant nor the opponent can submit a play in the same game.

To make an official selection, each contestant must submit the following four pieces of information in the post: Betting number, team name, price/pointspread and available sports book.

The handicapper with the most units at the end of the month will be declared the winner.

At month's end, the winner stays on the court for the following month and the loser goes home.

I'll try to recruit ABUNDY, BRAYDEN11, CHO, FAIR WARNING, HEIM, KANE, NUT6, PALEFACE, PINNACLE420, SCOOPER, SVBETTOR, TOBY TYLER, VIEJO DINOSAUR and others for this space in 2019.

Two gentleman gamblers hook up in the month of October for a fair and friendly competition.

May the handicapper who performs best capture the purse money.

I first met Ron Boyles through sports book supervisor Doug Castaneda at the old Stardust Race and Sports Book.

Doug is now running the race and sports book at Wynn Las Vegas.

But at the time, Castaneda suggested I recruit Ron to the radio show at the Stardutst because of his excellent college hoop opinion.

Doug was intimately aware of Ron's gambling success.

And for good reason.

Doug handled all phone accounts at the Stardust.

Doug said, "There's a guy named Ron Broyles (sic) who is super sharp with college basketball."

When I had a chance to finally meet Ron, he told me his last name was Boyles, not Broyles.

Castaneda thought it was Ron Broyles because that's the name that appeared on the phone account.

Longtime Las Vegas sports bettors call Boyles "SKINNY" because of his long, slender frame.

RICHSOX24 is in tough this month.

Actually, golfing with Doug Castaneda tomorrow.

Anyway, good luck to you, RICHSOX24.

Should be fun.

Are you allowed to play westgates _105 on Thursday?
Good question.

I had not thought about Westgate's promotion in regards to this contest.

Please post the special betting number and the available pointspread at the time of the submission.
