This is getting ridiculous

Sarah Fuller named SEC Special Teams Player of the Week.

She executed a squib kick in which the opponent received the ball at the 35-yard line.

Her team lost the game, 41-0.

The second-half kickoff was the only time Fuller took the field.

Seems like ESPN did not report the full story here.

A story at ESPN.com declared Fuller as the SEC Special Teams Player of the Week.

Here's the way the story read: On Monday, Fuller was named SEC Special Teams Player of the Week.

In truth, Fuller shared the award with the deserving winner, Kadarius Toney of Florida, who returned a punt 50 yards for a touchdown.

Ugh.

When you are a losing team and you don't have a chance, you do shit like this. I'm just shocked with all that practice and her supposedly decent leg from soccer that she couldn't do better. That kick was like something a random student picked out of the stands could do. I mean if you are going to be the first, go out and look like you have some ability and do yourself proud.

No she didn’t.
She mis-executed a normal kickoff so badly that it looked like a squib kick.
And gets praised for it by emasculated Woke people.
JFC.

I do 💯 agree with JK’s sentiments here, & his last post about ‘hiding behind a squib kick’

Ugh.
If he returned it 50 yards, did she kick it?

Sorry, had to say it.

Shocker that ESPN would only give half of the story. Did Jalen Rose and others rave over the squib kick?

Fuller kicked the football like she would kick a soccer ball.

She's the starting goaltender on the women's soccer team at Vanderbilt University.

No problem with a woman being on the team.

But an unqualified woman?

Stop it.

And now an unqualified woman receives an award.

Ridiculous.

Shouldn't Title IX protect men as well as women when it comes to participation in college athletics?

It only looks like a pooch kick because she has no follow through; no extension. It’s an embarrassment not only to kickers on Vanderbilt, but other players on their women’s soccer team who likely could’ve given a better effort. She’s a frickin goalie.

Some soccer goalies have big legs.

Kicks of 70 yards or more have been credited to Brazilian goalkeeper Ederson of Manchester City (EPL) and Tyler Miller of Minnesota United (MLS).

JK is correct to be pissed about the Fuller stunt.
I am too.

Sports & gambling (actual gambling $$ results) are 2 of the very few remaining meritocracies in our Woke society.

I’m pro meritocracies.
This Fuller stunt flies in the face of meritocracy.

An unqualified person actively participates in a game solely because of her politically correct sex.
The Woke media venerates her, & hides the fact that her only action was an abysmal failure, calling an 8th Grade caliber kickoff an “intentional squib kick”.
And then gives her a top award for her abysmal failure.

What’s next, having NBA jerseys & courts emblazoned with propaganda praising politically correct hate groups & PC martyred criminals?
Oh wait...

Lol you guys are up in arms over a team who none of you can name 2 players of. They're 0-8, they just fired their coach, they had 4 opt outs to focus on their academic paths pre season. They have the lowest pass D efficiency in the power 5. They lost their kicker, their backup kicker and their punter has never kicked.

Get over it guys. It's a small story if it wasnt the SEC and hadn't been publicised because of Missouri and UGA opponents. New mexico did the same thing 10 years ago. There are alot of little girls out there who are inspired by it. She can be laughably bad but it's one game more and that's a wrap on the season for her and vandy. Who knows maybe we get some sexy kickers in the future.. hopefully in the MAC

It’s a big story because woke ESPN (who has the SEC network) says it’s a big deal, and we should embrace it. It’s the cancel culture in reverse. So a Power 5 conference team couldn’t get a person at the end of the roster to squib kick a ball 30 yard? That’s the saddest part to me.
I’ll have to knock Eddies power rating down .025 point for the cheap shots at my MAC conference. It’s diminishing the value of my degree.

Supposedly she's going to be their only kicker in the next game. We'll see if she gets coached up and looks like a real kicker by then.

as far as another kicker on the roster :

But interim coach Todd Fitch said Ryley Guay, last year's kicker, may rejoin the roster.
Guay is in Vanderbilt medical school and has one year of eligibility remaining. He would have to get through the NCAA clearinghouse and COVID-19 testing to be able to play.
Guay was Vanderbilt's primary placekicker for the past two seasons, and he made 22 of 33 field goals and 66 of 66 PAT kicks in his career. He also kicked off 77 times in 2019 and 2020.
