No, some does but a lot doesn't, it's my understanding a lot of the problem is trucking related, not just harbor movement. Supposedly CA bans independent truckers(non union), so many truckers cant pick up loads - thus a huge driver shortage. That's not an issue in FL.

merlin they only moved 1 ship to florida... otherwise if it was wise to move it to florida they would ...remember desantis is running for office..

Correct. No owner operators (only big trucking companies) allowed in California ports and they need rigs that are a certain year or newer according to one of my friends in the industry (don't remember the year he mentioned).

According to him, they all have to be electric by the year 2030 or something in California too. So people aren't going to invest in diesel trucks that have to be replaced in order to operate in the state.

Just keep telling yourself that liberals are for the working people though, libtards. LOL.

and the shippers did not know to send it to florida ? of course they did but the costs and time were not worth it cause only 1 went to florida

i could see your business is doing well. LOL

And you think you know that because the media told you, the media would never lie about it to try to smear DeSantis, and the media is constantly monitoring every one of the nearly 100 cargo ships stuck in the ocean.

Right?

These shippers dont want to leave their place in line if they dont have to - right? The poor bastards have been sitting their for weeks and are committed. Plus they were prob hoping bidens order to open up the ports to 24 hr use would help, at least somewhat.

Once it's clear none of that is happenning i would expect more to give florida a try - especially ships still on the way that can divert without as much fuss.

Is florida going to become a major hub, nope, but it's a start and might help a little.

It makes zero sense for ships from asia to go thousands of miles out of their way does it? no sense until now, until biden broke the sytem.

it is 24 hours..... it has been 24 hours for about a month.. there had to be an agreement with the unions.. all done..
there is about 6-7 days to get to the truck.. normally 2-3 day wait. There is about 70 ships backed up

florida will never be a hub for supply ships.... just the vacation boats

navy is in san diego and virginia...for ships and sd / wash & georgia for subs

time for you to forget watching fox TV

The reports I've seen indicate it's not really operating 24 hr's, that that's a bunch of crap, supposedly last sunday a reporter sat outside the harbor and saw virtually no trucks going in or out.

They likely have a skeleton crew working at night and on weekends that isn't accomplishing jack shit - BUT they can claim "yea,. we're operating".

I miss Obama.
He was intelligent, educated, articulate, and a great public speaker.

The Biden-Harris Supply Chain Disruptions Task Force has really come through for us!!

For goods unloaded and sitting off vessel, the port will start charging the freight forwarder $100 per container and increasing in $100 increments daily.

The fucking companies want their goods, they are not delaying pulling goods out because they want to (goods are fucking late!!), the truckers are unable to get to entire areas of the port at given times. It's literally everyday common occurance when the containers are stacked 50 high and yours is buried, so unable to be loaded/taken out.

And don't believe for a second the freight forwarders are paying a dime of these fines. The consignee will be 100% responsible.
And the little dirty part is how this really works is once the fees get up there, they get negotiated between forwarder and Port. You want to take a stab and guess if consignee is included, or are they paying full fee amount??

Where else was he supposed to get his goods manufactured? The once-thriving, now non-existent textile industry in NYC?

Trump isn't the one that caused it.

People like Biden, Pelosi, and Schumer are.

You don't seem to understand that the reason that Trump has support is to get all of those corrupt assholes out of office - in both parties.

There's a reason he fought his own party as much as he fought the Dems.
