Uros Medic has looked great so far. Few things to note. He has only beat 2 guys with winning records. He has only been out of the 1st round once in his career and he is fighting an elite striker in Jalin. Medic is a very aggressive striker and is going to have to get in on a 7" reach disadvantage. Think the Medic hype train has inflated this price. Expected the line to opn between -110--135 in Turners favor so jumped all over the +175 opener. Jalin has serious advantages in the grappling and I think he is equally dangerous on the feet. Longer this fight goes the more it favors Turner.
Similar thought process on Shamil here. Proven commodity that has fought and beaten very good UFC HW's. We know he has cardio, we know he has a granite chin, we know he has good quickness, we know he has good power. Daukaus hasnt been out of the 1st round in a minute and been starching foes. None of which were particularly good standing or could match his speed/agility. Expect the fight to drift in Shamil's favor the longer it goes. If he wasn't 40 and been 2 years away from the sport I'd expect this line would be -125+ for Shamil. He may have fallen off entirely, but if this is the Shmail that beat Arlovski, I think I got a fav at dog price
Volk does not get the respect he deserves for being consistently great. Due to a controversial decision with Holloway and his lack of finishes, no one seems to appreciate his excellence (had many fights where opponent barely survived). I didn't realize how amazing he was until he totally disarmed Aldo and made the entire MMA world think Aldo was done. Everyone was wrong, as Aldo has gone on to be a contender again, Volk was just that much better. To kickbox with Holloway for 50 minutes and decisively win one bout and had a close one in the 2nd is amazing. We see how poorly hyped contenders like Kattar and Ortega have faired against the likes of Holloway, yet Volkanovski led the dance with Max. I think Ortega has improved but to think he can stand with Volk is crazy to me. Volk also the far better wrestler. He will dictate where the fight goes. Ortegas win condition imo, is catching a random sub off a clinch or Volk ducking. Could it happen? Sure. But if I expect this fight to be a striking affair, I'd line Volkanovski -400+. Also don't think T-Citys guard is as lethal as people make it out to be and Volk very intelligent on the ground. I think we see Volk dictate the whole bout and show the disparity between him, Holloway, and the rest of the division
