Like the logo, colours will take some getting used to. Why did they drop the "Las"?
What really concerns me is the mock expansion draft Craig Button did for Vegas come next June. The team he pencils in wouldn’t win 20 games in 2017-18.
I predict the Golden in "Vegas Golden Knights" will disappear in 3-4 years.
Stations has already made them +150 first home game. With a O/U TTL points of 72.5.
I just heard the patent office denied the request to name the team "Golden Knights", looks like they'll have to come up with a new name, or just go with "Knights"

They have zero chance of getting 72 points. This ones a slam dunk.

Not a big fan of this guys article. He seems to be missing the fact you can have as many pluggers and analytical + players on your rosters all you want but if you don't have players to put the puck in the net and keep it out as well as a better than average power play, you simply are not going to win many games in the NHL these days. The league is loaded with bonified stars and the Knights have none of them. And most everyone he picked up in the dispersal draft with any real NHL experience, he dealt for future draft picks. McPhee is setting the team up for a very bright future, and everything I've seen him do pretty much completely ignores winning games in this inaugural season. It's almost like he's saying, let throw away the first couple season at the expense of the overall health of this team longterm.June 2017 editorial, opinion, from Covers.

Past history has not been on the side of prior expansion teams. Here are the first-year records of all expansion teams added to the league over the past 26 years:

San Jose Sharks (1991-92): 17-58-5, 39 points, 22nd out of 22 teams
Ottawa Senators (1992-93): 10-70-4, 24 points, 24th out of 24 teams
Tampa Bay Lightning (1992-93): 23-54-7, 53 points, 22nd out of 24 teams
Florida Panthers (1993-94): 33-34-17, 83 points, 16th out of 26 teams
Anaheim Mighty Ducks (1993-94): 33-46-5, 71 points, 20th out of 26 teams
Nashville Predators (1998-99): 28-47-7, 63 points, 24th out of 27 teams
Atlanta Thrashers (1999-2000): 14-57-7-4, 39 points, 28th out of 28 teams
Columbus Blue Jackets (2000-01): 28-39-9-6, 71 points, 23rd out of 30 teams
Minnesota Wild (2000-01): 25-39-13-5, 68 points, 25th out of 30 teams

None of the past 10 expansion teams made the postseason in their first year - and only the Panthers really came close, which seems more like a happy aberration than anything else.

So why will the Golden Knights be any different? Here are three reasons why:

Advanced metrics

Golden Knights general manager George McPhee knows he’ll need to get creative in order to build a roster that will be competitive right off the bat - and he believes whole-heartedly that he can do it.

For starters, he’s a big fan of analytics and advanced metrics, telling the Golden Knights official team site recently: “It’s remarkable some of the things that data can clarify for you. We will try to strike that balance of opinion and analytics. The best expression that I’ve heard about analytics is that it’s another club in your golf bag. And I think that’s pretty accurate.”

Analytics is a relatively new phenomenon in the NHL, and one the 10 previous expansion teams didn’t have at their disposal.
They are. League average per ticket in the NHL is in the $70 range. Knights tickets are at $88 per seat average. They are simply capitalizing on the hype. Smart move. And can always lower them should interest wane and still be in good shape. Lots of things this Foley and his people are doing right.Season tickets overpriced. There is nothing to do in Vegas, except gambling, drinking, and hookers...so I think they will do fine.
How much of their season ticket base is actual fans and how much is blocks picked up by the casinos?

so what are the chances I will get comped a pair of tickets if I am in town staying at the Wynn or MGM on a thursday night when they are playing carolina?

You best be a high mid-roller or high roller, otherwise NIL, even then chances slim.
Like the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim? ha!
I bet the latter 13 months ago at GVR as a souvenir...............
