The f’n bastard can’t live in either one.
Because they're dumb?If that’s true then why is everyone closing beaches?
Trout said he wants to play baseball this season but that he might have to reconsider if there is a COVID-19 outbreak.
What does trout describe as an outbreak? The virus is everywhere, which is a good thing.
He is also expecting his first newborn in August....
You have to wonder how many of the rank and file are thinking the same, but are afraid to speak out.Kris Bryant :
Emphasizing that he didn’t want to appear insensitive to regular folks who don’t have the same access to testing major-leaguers do, Bryant nevertheless laid out just how far behind MLB has been since reaching an agreement with players on health and safety protocols and other terms for a long-delayed season.
‘‘What we agreed to was testing every day,’’ he said. ‘‘We have had guys here that showed up on Sunday and hadn’t gotten tested again seven days later. And then you don’t get the results for two days, either, so that’s nine days without knowing. And I think if we really want this to succeed, we’re going to have to figure this out.
‘‘I wanted to play this year because I felt that it would be safe and I would feel comfortable, but honestly? I don’t really feel that way.’’

Take that asterisk and shove it — Cubs skipper David Ross wants a trophy and a parade
Think a 60-game regular season is illegitimate? Ross isn’t buying it. “If they’re passing out a trophy, I want it,” he said.
Fans won’t be in the stands when the Sox open the pandemic-delayed season July 24 against the Minnesota Twins at Guaranteed Rate Field. But through a team promotion, a few fans might get to see a cardboard cutout of themselves while watching the game on television.
The Sox announced the “FANtastic Faces” promotion, which allows fans to purchase a cardboard cutout of their likeness that will be displayed during the first homestand July 24-26.
Cutouts cost $49 each, while supplies last. Interested fans can submit a photo following the guidelines provided at whitesox.com/fantasticfaces. The net proceeds will benefit Chicago White Sox Charities.
The cutouts will be authenticated and available for pickup after the series.
“I think it’s a good idea, just to get some color out there,” Giolito said.
This may be old news, as I have not been paying attention to sports sites recently, but I did listen a bit to MLB Network on XM in the car yesterday. Apparently it will be an unbalanced schedule. For instance, in both the Yankees/Red Sox and Cubs/Cardinals season series, they will not be 5 home/5 road. Both those series will be marked by one team playing 7 home games and only 3 road games. Maybe this is old news to some, but it was the first I'd heard of it.
I've changed my mind. I think there will be a season, and it will go on uninterrupted. Same with the NBA.
Thanks for the info.On VSIN today, Von Tobel was giving his analysis on all the teams. He was spouting stats so fast I could barely understand him. But he left out possibly the most important stat of all: how many Covid positives a team has. For instance, I want no part of an Atlanta Over win total. 4 players tested positive, and one of those is a major player (Freeman) who's got definite symptoms and clearly NOT asymptomatic. They also have two other players who've opted to not play. Interesting note on the Cubs being the only team with ZERO Covid positives.

Uninterrupted MLB and NBA seasons, according to Valuist.
Hope you're right.
He doesn't say why he changed his mind. I'm wondering why he did.
the market would've sniffed it out a while ago.
I was wondering if it is a good idea to get a flu shot this year.Which "market" are you referring to: the stock market, a betting market, or some other market?
By the way the danger in the Fall is the beginning of a new flu season (usually starts October 1). Contracting both the flu and Covid-19 apparently really complicates treatment and forces the immune system to fight two different threats at the same time.
From cleveland.com:
{If a person did catch both diseases, Poland (Dr. Greg Poland, professor of medicine and infectious diseases at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN) said reason dictates that the symptoms would be exacerbated.
“How they actually infect human cells are different,” Poland said. “If one were infected with both and had an upper or lower respiratory tract infection, that is a double whammy. One of them by themselves is a difficult and sometimes critical situation. Both of them at the same time raises the pathology and the critical nature of the illness.”} (bolding, underling, and italicizing me)
{Influenza uses sialic acid, a sugary acid, to attach to cells while coronavirus uses the ACE2 enzyme, a protein.}
{Poland said anyone worried about possible coinfection could take another very simple step: getting an influenza vaccine.} (bolding, underlining me)
I would say the NHL has the best chance of completing their season as they go straight to their playoffs with a potential Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals scheduled for October 2, 2020, right as flu season starts.
Plus their two "hubs" have relatively low rates of infection as compared to Orlando, FL. Also, in contrast to the NHL and NBA, baseball is being played everywhere.

The financial markets. Big picture, the betting markets are microscopic.
They have about a 35% success rate.
Ended up getting sick shortly after one of them.
He has a good reason - He and his wife just adopted twin girls who were born prematurely. They are in the ICU for the forseeable future.Posey not playing...they will drop like flies... the season will be cancelled..
