I think the case can be made for any team to win the NL pennant, Atl, NYM, Phi, Mil, LAD, SD, Ari, I honestly think any one of them could reach the WS, I can't think of another year where I felt this way
Yep. We know they like to use WAR, and Skenes has a clear lead in WAR.
Skenes starts: 22 innings 131 innings W/L 11-3 ERA: 1.99 WHIP: 0.96 167 strikeouts WAR: 6.0
Imanaga starts; 29 innings 173 innings W/L 15-3 ERA 2.91 WHIP 1.02 174 strikeouts WAR 3.2
Merrill: 151 games 157 hits, BA: .292 SP .503 OPS: .829 HRs: 24 rbis: 89 29 doubles WAR 4.3
Imanaga on the outside looking in,. Normally a 15-3 sub 3 ERA would be good enough for RotY.

My guess is that while Imanaga's strikeout numbers are solid, they aren't phenomenal like Skenes. I've always felt strikeouts (for starting pitchers) are over rewarded in WAR.
I like relievers who come into high leverage situations to have strikeout stuff. But all it really does for starting pitchers is prematurely pile up the pitch counts.

I have a future on Schildt to win MOY +1400, all season, right from the start, it was Murphy's to lose, but if the Pads can overtake the Dodgers and win the division, I think Schildt has a puncher's chance, the Pads have the best record in baseball the second half, It's gonna really suck if him and Merrill both finish second to Murphy and Skenes

Last week the Pirates DFA'd Rowdy Tellez who needed just a few more AB's to qualify for a bonus, today they're benching Isiah Kiner Falefa who needs 4 AB's to reach a 250K bonus, such scumbag moves by that organization, and believe me, players and agents across the league take notice of shit like this
