This will be a long post but I think I could use the space. This is after all where I did a lot of long posts.
Computer bob can answer all of these questions but I wanted to address some things transparently as possible so everyone can understand. Scooper and Railbird along with people that I respect and vice versa.
I initially reached out to Computer Bob pretty far back when we were doing the radio show with JK each week and Dink really thought I was special and believed in me much more than I did myself at the time. I know JK probably remembers that I did not know Bob was even a handicapper or busy doing his own work. I thought he was just a guy who enjoyed tracking people. Thank you Bob sincerely for all the mass emails you have to read each week sometimes for years now
Jk I used to be around 70/30 non p5 I would believe I am closer to 50/50 these days. I think anyone that hits openers or early numbers will tell you that bots take out great stuff quickly most of that is G5 and while I'm fast it's a uphill battle with lots of changing prices and freezing numbers every sunday at 4 and monday (whenever they decide to post) afternoon. Also JK I am a coach guy and good coaches graduate to bigger jobs but they take their base totals with them so to speak.
Onto Rails question. Bob gets the number being still available I'd guess well over 80% of the time nowadays. Bob would know much better than myself. Never was there a time that I'd consider asking Bob's support or assistance in tracking me initially so one day it would end up on a forum which is of course fine.
Bob is a vital part of a season for me.
This is the way it works. This is a job, this is 100% work but I got caught with my pants down in a few spots back in the day. When new to all of this and started hitting openers and really taking this seriously I would take any pph. I was (am) a credit player. If you offered me a out, we were in business right then. However around 5 or6 years ago I had a very successful week and come Monday my figure owed was extremely light. Agent stated I only made 7 plays and stated 4-3 not even enough for the settle amount. Knowing this was complete b.s. if there are 7 bets on a sheet for me in a week it's because I died on Monday night but there was no discourse and then from there I got stiffed, been blocked and ghosted from every promising to never limit a player from California to Maine agent. Big and small mirrors.
Also I battle with a very serious learning disability and will for life. If there is no record of it then it didnt take place in my life basically. Everything that is important must have a piece of paper receipt basically.
No one spends 300 hours from Feb-August getting ready for a season if they could just build a model or retain info by reading a few articles. Writing down every single sentence read and every bet made and there are a fucking ton of them is 100% necessary for me. Then Lisa who's my better half (shes got 2 kids, married and is vietnamese who isnt into white guys JK sorry to report) who sits 3 feet away bets at the other outs or prepares bets and puts everything in excel which she built for me. She is there because I once misplaced a figure, 5 purple chips from a casino and all my opening numbers on one saturday night. Best friends with a ex girlfriend who introduced is three years ago nown She is the best 24 hour a week investment I've ever made in my life, period.
The first email each week is to Bob and Waz. I have a Duel time stamp with the email, my receipt number along with the excel.
Every bet from there everyday Bob receives instantly. Lisa uses the emails to make sure all numbers are within my discrepancy bet point at pphs mon, Tuesday, Wednesday so we can fan out action.
We move 1/2 point on the screen on average and if more than that I will try to bet more elsewhere within reason. Being conscious of what you move and how they move on you is vital. Splitting action with others is necessary for me. I'm not the best football handicapper but I dont lose longterm and lock up good numbers and if you're working harder then me just go to med school or something.
Spending from 8am Sunday to 4AM recording every box score losing bets first always. I wake up and finish recording all games in the binder by 7 pm monday comes first before almost everything else this time of year. Betting non stop Sunday until Tuesday basically. Injury numbers release at 10 am I don't sleep much until Tuesday and Wednesday.
This is what Railbird got wrong. Sports betting is not a zero sum game if you have partnerships. I give my college football to the hardest working NFL capper, the hardest working NHL guy, the best cbb capper and split the work of a NBA season with someone with far more talent than myself. We all are rooting vigorously for one and other to succeed.
The only rule is you can't bet on the screen and vice versa. You move my numbers before I'm down in full or bettoriq gets them then we throw the towel in and try again some other time. Oh and dont think your agent who gives you a nickel max isnt going to move on your action for a lot more, happens.
Having these people give you +ev bets creates a income stream and or another person you can constantly learn from. Being able to talk as gamblers in this life is the most valuable asset that you can have. Also learning why you suck is more valuable than being validated of how good you are. Within reason of course on both ends.
The podcast and writing for BettorIq allows me to think about each game because I have to present it to someone. Gamblers who dont have to explain why they like something are really missing out in my experience. If I can explain to others why I like a bet eventually my numbers will show some confidence as will my reasoning. I also think the pressure of losing others money is extremely motivating for me personally. Laying a egg hurts a lot more when you have a audience of 50 who paid perhaps booing.
No issue will ever be taken myself with using a minimum of one hour a week to help people with their numbers privately. I'll answer any dm (sorry waz lol) even while sick to give a best opinion possible, recommending authors and team beat writers. You know how I know that's the right thing to do?
Some guys named Alan, Frank and George did the same thing for me for years. Then some guy named John interviewed these giants named Matt, Ron, Bobby and so and so on.. tuned in every night for years and pieced things together one losing bet after another until creation of my own process happened and the losing flipped.
Jk I'll take you down memory lane. Dink, you and Eric Biggio at the pizza place by the radio station and Dink trying to convince me to bet a dime when I had maybe a 30k bankroll. Feels so long ago but maybe not as long as it really was.
I used to love to write my blog here and this was a great experience in doing so again in a sense.
Thanks for the space to all over the years.
