Detroit Lions 2024 Season Thread

Eagles are elite but run heavy with Barkley. Vikings, we will pusscee. It's time for Darnold to revert to Darnold.

never got into stoney & wojo, only 1130 WDFN show host I listened to was Damon Parry, in the the morning. guess he was only there a couple of years before moving on.

Greg Brady was a regular at the station, now doing Toronto morning drive.

1270 never came in clear enough ...

This guy said it best

But in the end, this was a completely wasted opportunity.
Yes, they earned the No. 1 seed. Yes, they won the NFC North.
But they wasted it.
This was like getting a brand-new car, driving it off the lot and getting in a nasty wreck — then, to make it even worse, getting a ticket from the cops to boot.
In the end, all that is left is a bunch of wreckage.
Frustration. Anger. And nothing but disappointment.

C'mon, you can't call that betrayal. The entire world knew Johnson was going to get a HC job; if not the Bears, it would've been elsewhere. So he calls Allen to gauge interest. How long after the 2024 National Champ did DeBoer take the Bama job? Next day? This stuff happens. Let's not be naive.

He pursued the job while still coaching the Lions. He took the job while still coaching the Lions and recruited fellow assistant coaches to leave with him. His offensive gameplan was putrid in the Redskins game. He completely checked out. This stuff does not happen.

If he is honest and transparent and put everything into helping the Lions win the Super Show, no problem. Not what happened.

Detroit lost the playoff game because their defense was ravaged by injuries. The Bears pursued Ben. He had other suitors.

I understand this is a business. Every John Rocker for heself. But there is a right and a wrong way to do it. You need to be all in until it is over. He wasn't. He checked out before the game that would have made history. 1st ever NFC Championship game in Motown.

521 yards total offense in that game. FIVE turnovers. Let's face it, by post season the Lions were a shell of their peak last year. One of many reasons I believe Wash will be overrated this year was that game. But it was fraudulent as the Lions were completely decimated on the defensive side and handed them 5 extra possessions.

They would have had a chance with tighter offensive gameplan. Should have pounded the pill. That first turnover 2nd and short in the red zone up 7-3 was the start. Give it to Gibbs.

Take it for what it's worth, but money coming in on the Lions in the HOF game tomorrow
