NFL draft talk: Sanders now favored to go #9

I don't bet much draft props, I made a bet on Carter going one, obviously that's a loser, but I found a bet that didn't make sense to me. Sanders to be the second QB drafted -250, I'm not a draftnik, don't watch the mocks, have little interest, but how is he not the second QB taken? Maybe I'm wrong, but -250 seems like a steal, who could go ahead of him? Cam Ward first QB, then it has to be Sanders, if I'm missing something, someone please let me know

Raiders could be onto something, NE picking 4th would be a logical trade partner if a team is looking to move up to take Sanders, they don't need a QB, they also have a lot of holes to fill, they're a perfect candidate to move down and get additional assets, I'll throw pizza money on this happening

Some Saints beat writer is reporting if he's there at 9 the Saints will absolutely not take him

Of course every report needs to be taken with a grain of salt, you never know what's real and what's a smoke screen

Cincinnati just drafted an edge rusher at 17 on a guy who had a grand total of 4 1/2 sacks in THREE years. Then they go on about his "measurables". That only makes his lack of production look worse. The woman from ESPN, Molly something, had a slip when she said "Lamar Jackson and Joe Burrow's jobs just more difficult". Maybe only Burrow's will get more difficult.

ESPN is such garbage. Anyone with a pulse knew Sanders stock was falling like a rock. THe interviews went terrible. And one other factor that wasn't mentioned: maybe he benefited more from Travis Hunter than the other way around. Yet Greenberg kept pushing this false narrative; probably to protect Kiper, who stubbornly refused to admit he was wrong. I would hope they were aware of the falling stock, but they seemed surprised. Hot steaming garbage. Everything Disney touches is hot garbage.

The top few picks(1st rd) - where sanders used to be pegged, can get contracts in the $35-40 million range, high 2nd rd picks can get 4 yr deals at roughly $10 million total.

Shadeurs attitude and entitlement have cost him $30 million. If god forbid he keeps falling it'll get far worse.

Wearing that idiotic giant gold chain with a dollar sign isn't helping either.

The Browns have 2 of the first 4 picks in round 2. I will be shocked if they don't use one on Sanders. But like Merlin said, they've already saved a lot of $$ not taking him 1st round. And money is something they need, after wasting so much on Watson. I think this is a good ego check for Sanders......he may be a guy who thrives with a chip on his shoulder. Let's not forget, Lamar Jackson ended up going around 30th.

I heard he had a 21st birthday party event and not one of his teammates came.

So the knock on him is he's over rated, has a weak arm, doesn't work hard, doesn't take suggestions from coaches well, lacks discipline, has been spoiled his whole life and is extremely entitled. They also say against inferior competition he still had barely a winning record and the entire system his dad set up was designed to give him great stats for the draft. To top it off he refused to throw at the combine and utterly botched pre draft interviews where instead of trying to impress with a good attitude and that he'd be a great teammate/leader, he came across as an entitled A hole.

His upside is he's very athletic which almost all black QB's are.

I guess he can still make good endorsement money for a couple years until he flops.

I saw some of his pro day throws. Many pointed out he has a double hitch before he throws.

Which delays the ball getting there and also telegraphs the direction....

Roughly speaking he was(assuming top 5) going to get a $8 million signing bonus and make $7-8 million/yr, now he'll get a $2 mill bonus and make $2 mill/yr.

Now that sounds like a lot(and it is) but there are things called taxes and agent fees, etc - blowing $350K on a silly dollar symbol gold chain is the path to being rich but broke.

It's interesting that the Steelers in desperate need of a Qb, loved Pickett a few years ago in Rd1 but Sanders who lays over him re potential
was a pass.
