Needs to get off the morphine and do a chemo-immunotherapy cocktail, otherwise his stage 3 can turn into stage 4, the cancer won't kill him anytime soon, the morphine will. Suicide by drugs is popular with liberals tho, and dinks entire think tank and friend base is 100pct libtards. He needs to separate from that, get some Bible believers to lay hands on him and get him some good nutrition, retire from gambling permanently as its a counter productive act. Give it all too Jesus christ as this life is irrelevant and it's the next one that matters

Recently I made a change, deciding to go to bed earlier and taking a Melatonin. According to the Fitbit, I'm getting about 90 more minutes of sleep a night.
i'd always assumed melatonin was kind of a false drug, getting you to sleep but it not being "real" (deep) sleep. does fitbit measure deep vs shallow sleep? because if it does, i'm going to buy a fitbit and some melotonin tomorrow. nothing beats quality sleep.

(sorry gents, not trying to hijack the thread.)

Melatonin is all natural. Not a drug at all.

Yes, the Fitbit measures deepness of sleep

I tried melatonin 10mg. I thought it was the best thing since sliced bread. Now up to 50MG wide awake watching baseball in 9th inn. Meds work much better. Neither good for you,

somebody up there posted about hospice probabilities. and then someone else posted pics. having just gone thru the endgame of hospice of a loved one, those pics were haunting. prepare yourselves.
I find it hard to believe 10-20% of people leave hospice alive, my experience with my mothe was it was a compassionate execution, after 3-4 weeks they decide their work is done and push for the end(through morphine).

Just like a birth certificate where your place of birth is documented, the same is true of a death certificate.

The goal for "place of death" is HOME.

Ideally, you're surrounded by family and friends.

I know someone who died a violent death and the location on their death certificate read STREET.

Wasn't it the poster Patrick McIrish who said he wasn't sure if he was going upstairs or downstairs when he dies but if he saw a smiling Kinky at the pearly gates upstairs, he'd turn around and take the downstairs?

"compassionate execution", exactly.

my dad chose to stop dialysis, which is choosing to die. they drug them and let them go. its hard to accept.

That is high, no way 1 in 5 people are leaving Hospice alive.

That said there is a lot of fraud involved now, people getting put in when they shouldn't be and staying in longer than what it is intended for.

American Greed featured someone that hustled the Hospice game out of millions. Lot of money in it if you know what you're doing.

Except in Nevada casinos. NO ONE dies in one. They all "somehow" die elsewhere. The person could be shot in the casino, their brains and blood could be splattered all over the lace yet "somehow" that person dies in the ambulance and not in the casino

No doubt about it.

I was at the Stardust race and sports book one day when Morris Greenberg (age 92) was telling me a story about the Chicago mob.

Morris was a Stardust regular and he had some great history to relay.

Would you believe as Morris was in mid-sentence, his eyes started to close as if he was going to sleep?

Soon thereafter, his head hit the desk and gravity caused his body to collapse in the chair and later fall to the floor.

I am certain Morris was dead before he hit the floor.

He literally dropped dead.

I raced to call security and eventually Las Vegas paramedics.

All the while, I shook Morris to try to keep him awake/alert.

No luck.

The paramedics came and wheeled him out the door as if he was still alive.

He was white as a ghost.

I later learned Morris was NOT declared dead on the scene because an investigation would have to be opened and the sports book would have been forced to close.

The Stardust sports book was closed on the day when a customer shot dead a fellow customer.

The murder took place in February 2000.

The victim raced out the back door of the Stardust before falling to the ground by the payphones just outside the door.

Tragic event.

The following day, I came into the Stardust and asked Director Joe Lupo to please reserve two seats for me in the NON-SHOOTING SECTION.

JK is a lifetime fish at gambling despite rubbing shoulders and perhaps dicks with top shelf handicapping talent for 40 plus years. But he has great stories.

My favourite JK story is not from JK. I think it was mofome making fun of him because instead of shaking hands like a normal person, he fist bumped. Hillaryous telling. No wonder JK never got covid. He's always been good at social distancing.

I stole the format of the Gary Payton II story from David Schuster, longtime radio talent in Chicago.

While we were working at SportsPhone in Chicago, Schuster told a story about defeating Tracy Austin in a game of tennis.

He was 14, she was 8.

Always good for a chuckle.

i keep referencing my dad, which is the only exposure into it i know, but... every time dad wound up in the hospital, they'd be pushing hospice HARD directly to him, selling it like a Tampa Bay timeshare, at a time when my dad was having cognitive issues and couldn't be trusted to make his own decisions.

i'd get a call at work from him, cheerfully saying "i;m going into hospice! the doctors said i'd feel so much better!", which would set off a round of angry conversations between me & those doctors, and come to find out they'd just tell him it was "less pain" without adding he'd be dead in a week, and he'd gladly agree. then i'd talk to him and explain what hospice actually was, and he'd say "hell no, i don't want that".

it was like they were trying to kill him for bed space, deciding in advance he had no more utility. every time he went back in, the doctors would try the same shit.

He thought JK was the best interviewer and deserved a VSIN or bigger type of spot.
I agree 100% here. I have to think the reason JK hasn't been scooped up by VSIN or bigger is because he's content living where he's living and doing what he's doing. His experience, his style and his guests...I learned so much from his shows.

One time I won Dink's golf clubs (after he swore off golf) at a charity auction for retired racehorses. The next time I saw him, he asked how my golf game was and I told him hell I don't play either, I only got the clubs to help the horses. Anyway the clubs are right-handed and I'm left-handed. I sold them on craigslist. He immediately deadpanned, "I hope you checked all of the pockets in the golf bag, I had a stash of casino chips in there." I just laughed, but the funny part is that I did check every inch of that bag looking for forgotten treasure.

I'm still kicking myself for bidding on the clubs but not on the date with Gillian Jacobs.

Someone should pitch a JK hosted show to DK, FDTV, I mean TVG, and VSIN. Or produce it themselves and sell it to them.
