I don't agree. There's too much negative talk going around. We have the best system. Not perfect but not as bad as some say. I heard the economy just ticked up and the unemployment rate has dropped. The title of the thread implies a stick market at 5000. When guys, when?

I've actually been making good money on the market since 2010 but it's not going to take much for me to pull the trigger and sell .I waited too long in 2009 and that will never happen again!
I hope a crash never happens but to many things point to it happening again.
If the dollar is not used to buy oil , or if China combines with Russia to form another currency to get rid of the dollar it will be ugly.
The Corporations have created a monster in China and they won't need the dollar very much longer to feed the beast.

Its called inflation QE adding 4 trillion dollars into the system has artificially held down rates, and pumped up housing and stock prices

The fed is threatening to raise rates and reduce the balance sheet . Say goodnight if that happens

Which is why it wont

can you say

You guys have much more knowledge if how the economy works than I do. The thing about QE leading to inflation does make sense. However, so-called experts have been predicting a crash is just around the corner for five years now and it hasn't happened. Inflation hasn't happened. I have gone around and at mutated I was wrong about bad times ahead. And it was my fault for listening to guys like Glenn Beck and Alex Jones. While I called network and cable news shills for the corporations, I never questioned the credibility of my sources. When NBC suspended Brian Williams, that meant a lot to me. If Fox suspends O"Rielly, that makes them more credible too. My point is, I don't see these sources predicting what you're predicting.

Another thing I've discovered: is the govt really taking our rights? You hear over and over on the internet that freedom of speech is gone. If freedom of speech is gone, then how are they allowed to say "Freedom of speech is gone?" I'm glad I didn't purchase Alex Jones' doomsday kit.

Another thing I'd like to point out, alarmists say the govt is buying lots of bullets preparing for the inevitable crash. We'll I HOPE their prepared. Not that it's going to happen, but it' happened in 1929. They were unprepared for Hurricane Katrina, I think they learned a lesson.

When has inflation NOT happened? It's part of life. If the prices go up I'll just have to adjust. Another thing I want to amend. I've re-thought that Indiana law concerning religious freedom. If the baker doesn't want to bake that cake, fine. Go somewhere else. But, I would ask him "What would Jesus do?" If you love your neighbor, you bake the cake.

I had to do some soul searching. WHY was I watching and listening to all that anti-American crap on the internet? Do I really hate America? I thought back to when I was a kid. Saying the pledge of allegiance with my hand over my heart. Memorizing the capitals of all 50 states. Knowing the chronological order of all of our Presidents. During the moon landing, looking up at the moon to see if I could find the astronauts. The agony of the '72 Olympics when the referee's let the Russians have an extra play to beat us in basketball. That one still hurts. I love this country, with our Redwood forests, Niagra Falls and Hawaii. I figured out that I was actually upset at myself but couldn't admit it. I owe the Bush administration an apology. Me. Bush and Cheney, I'm sorry. We don't sometimes but you guys are good people. I wish you well. I had to get that off of my chest.

A good indicator of the economy is Las Vegas, a city hit hard by the economy and competition from California. In Vegas, unemployment is going down, plans are underway to finish unfinished projects and consumer confidence is on the rise. Vegas is coming back.

You have been brainwashed. Its not part of life

It only part of life when you have a broke country, too much socialism, and a fiat currency .

The natural path for prices should be down, not up.

Do you think we have become a little more efficient over the last 30 years to produce a loaf bread?

Myths . . .

After coming out of the perpetual fog of innuendo, I have come to some different conclusions:

The President doesn't run the country, it's run by corporations, The Military Industrial Complex and The Illuminati.

There's no doubt corporations have influence on politicians because the law says they can. But to say Obama answers to GE, GM etc is unproven. When Dwight Eisenhower mentioned "The Military Industrial Complex" he got this myth started. If these guys really are in charge, why didn't Clinton or Obama start a war? Nope, our president is the commander in chief period. If you think The Illuminati really runs the show, do one of two things: see a shrink or join the Illuminati.

Our country is not broke? Really?
Let me see, 18 trillion in hard debt
over 80 trillion in unfunded liabilities
we run on avg a 40 billion dollar trade deficit each month
On a good year, we are upside down by 400 billion
And the Federal reserve is the largest holder. Of our debt , paid for with money they just made up out of thin air

I can't the debt exists, but I don't see even Fox News lamenting about it. Our free market system is sound a little socialism for the poor folks doesn't hurt. And my example of the religious freedom is this: if you run a business, you abide by the laws of our government. If God is more important, then don't run a business. I was a horse racing fan for over 40 years. A long time ago I wrote letters to Hollywood Park and Santa Anita saying that betting on horse races wasn't a good bet because of the taxation. They take out 20% of each horse bet. What bettor can survive with those odds? I claimed that as soon as competition arrived, horse racing would be in trouble. In 1978, Hollywood Park was NUMBER ONE IN ATTENDANCE AND HANDLE. They averaged 35,000 fans a day. In 2013, she closed her doors. Horse racing has a lot of issues , but I tried to explain to them that their biggest issue is simple: YOU NEED MORE CUSTOMERS! And you get more customers by offering a better product to the bettors. Most fans have gravitated to casinos who offer gambling at lower taxation (house edge). And I don't blame them. Instead of going to the races a 100 times a year, I now make five visits. But admittedly my attitude and presentation was wrong. So I blame myself for that. When RP ran, I was feeling the same sentiments. Boy oh boy I'm glad he lost. When I saw he joined up with that Charlaton Stansbury I really felt sucker punched. But I give RP credit on one thing, he's a good actor. I really don't lnow enough yet about Rand yet. He may be like his dad but that's an unfair judgement if I haven't heard him speak yet. But like I said before, there's nothing wrong for preparing for bad times. A sound look at the odds say it's highly unlikely. I used to say its "inevitable" too because I let my mind go weak. That's why I keep asking you to prove your claims that we're heading for bad times? Obama has been bad for business?

What positive economic news ? Stock prices are in a bubble right now because of the FED. Don't you see that it's been 7 years that we have had rates at zero. In seven years, during this wonder recovery, the fed can not even discuss rates moves 25 bips without the market having a hissy fit . These low rates have allowed companies to borrow more money, buy back stock, create bottom line growth, without top line

Since QE has ended , the market has gone no where

The fed is now the largest holder of our treasuries

Ask yourself what would happen to a stock price, if the largest owner of the stock, who was a buyer, turns around and becomes a seller ? Oh, and by the way, the stock price was at record nose bleed levels

Welcome to our nightmare
